Another tough night betting the NFL as none of my bets win although for a minute there I thought I was going to hit both bets in the Miami game but alas that didn't happen. At least MLB playoffs start tomorrow so I'll probably have something on that and try to get back on track. Also wasn't aware of this but regular season NHL starts this week so I'll have even more sports to take a look at betting wise although I'm going to do my best to refrain from having too much action because I know for a fact that's gotten me into trouble in the past. It's just hard with all these sports going at once to not have a lot of action so we'll see what happens.

Overall record: 130-151-5 -29.24u
MLB: 93-82-4 +7.57u
WNBA: 15-25-2 -12.25u
NHL: 1-2 -1.42u
UFC: 5-7 -0.50u
OLYMBB: 4-7 -3.76u
NCAAF: 12-14-1 -3.40
NFL: 7-22 -16.17u
Jrgum... I look forward to your NHL plays.
I've not played that sport much at all. Would love to learn what to look for to start betting it.
Any insight youmay have is appreciated.

I'm not a hockey expert by any means but I do bet it on occasion and have my ups and downs like any other sport. I'll probably play it sparingly compared to other sports but I will have the occasional NHL play if I see value.

The NFL has been brutal this year, myself included.
Yeah I usually do well in NFL and not so great at college football but for some reason this year so far I'm having more success with NCAAF than NFL and I have no idea why other than the fact the NFL has been unpredictable this year.

Kansas City Royals F5 +0.5 -123 1.23u to win 1u
New York Mets ML +131 1u to win 1.31u

WNBA
Minnesota Lynx 1H -2.5 -107 1.07u to win 1u

Ok today I have two plays in the MLB playoffs and one in the WNBA playoff game between the Lynx and Sun. In MLB I like the Royals to stay competitive at least early on in their game against Baltimore. I lean their way full game but instead of risking them blowing it late due to the Orioles stronger offense I'm taking them to either be tied or winning after five innings. I think Corbin Burnes is vulnerable and I'd say the Royals have a slight edge in starting pitching with Cole Ragans on the hill today so I think the first five innings probably won't feature much scoring by either side giving me value on the F5 run line with the Royals.

In the Mets game I like New York today just because they had to fight to get in the playoffs so they're hot right now and I think at least the bats keep it up even against Freddy Peralta. Severino didn't have to pitch yesterday so he'll be well rested for the Mets and ready to go so I think they're live to win this game and also win the series against the Brew Crew.

In the WNBA game I expect Minnesota to play with a sense of urgency agains the Sun who stole game 1 on the road. The Lynx can't afford to go down 0-2 so I think at least in the first half there's value on them to cover the short number. Full game is a little tougher pill to swallow because I think the Sun's defense keeps them in every game so 4 points is generous and I don't want to chance it either way because I also think the Lynx might be able to cover, I'm just more confident in them covering the first half.

All right we sweep the board going 2-0 in bases including a plus money winner with the Mets as they stay hot agains the Brew Crew and we go 1-0 in the W as Minnesota handles business early en route to winning the game against Connecticut to even the series. On to today where we have more playoff baseball meanwhile the WNBA picks back up Friday with both series shifting to Connecticut and Las Vegas respectively.

San Diego Padres ML -114 1.14u to win 1u

2 plays for me today and I'm once again on the Mets. The Mets quite simply have been on fire at the plate and I don't think that stops today against the Brewers and Frankie Montas. Throw in the fact that the Mets got length out of Severino yesterday and didn't have to use many bullpen arms and I think they put away the crew tonight and move on to the next round.

I took the Padres to finish off the Braves because I really like how the Padres are playing right now. Also I think the Braves were at a huge disadvantage coming into this series given how banged up they were and the fact that they had play a tough double header Monday and then fly across the country to play yesterday. I think the Padres will get to Max Fried today and be able to keep the Braves offense in check behind Joe Musgrove and their bullpen.

Ok 1-1 day so no harm no foul although I thought the Mets had it again against the Brewers but kudos to the Crew's bats coming alive to save their season and force a deciding game Thursday. Only one baseball game Thursday so I'll have something on that and the Thursday night football game.

MLB
New York Mets ML +120 1u to win 1.2u

NFL
Tampa Bay/Atlanta u44 -108 1.08u to win 1u

One play each today for me on the MLB and NFL games that are going down tonight. In the MLB game I once again like the Mets to take this one. This is a all hands on deck game where both teams probably turn to the bullpen early in the game so while I don't expect much from the starters other than maybe getting through the lineup once I do anticipate that the Mets bullpen will be able to hold the Brewers lineup at bay behind David Petersen who should be ready to go as many innings as needed since he's rested. The Brewers don't have that luxury so I think their bullpen will give up some runs to this scorching hot Mets lineup and the Mets will advance to the next round.

In the NFL I see a close game between the Falcons and Bucs. While I lean the Bucs way I'm not sure they win here so instead I'm taking the under 44 because I don't see much scoring from either team here on a short week. The Falcons won last week without scoring an offensive touchdown which is why I lean to Tampa Bay plus the points but ultimately I couldn't pull the trigger because I don't know if we can trust Tampa on a short week. What I do know is that this game should be a typical prime time game with not a lot of scoring due to both defenses being able to hold the opposing offense in check so I'm on the under in this one.

My read on the NFL couldn't have been more wrong but boy what an exciting game for once between the Falcons and Bucs. The Falcons may have found their offense after all now that Kirk Cousins finally played the way they envisioned when they signed him in the offseason. He just needs to stay healthy but that is the million dollar question for the aging QB coming off an achilles injury.

Baseball was good to me again as the Mets find a way to come from behind in the 9th. Now they get the Phillies in what should be an exciting series. I believe the familiarity between the 4 clubs still remaining in the NL will bring about some exciting games in the division series.

NCAAF
Syracuse +6 -108 1.08u to win 1u
Syracuse ML +197 1u to win 1.97u
Michigan State +23.5 -109 1.09u to win 1u

WNBA
New York Liberty ML +135 1u to win 1.35u

Ok guys here's what I like today for tonights college football action and also a play in the W as the Liberty look to sweep the defending champion. First up I like Syracuse tonight to spoil UNLV's season. I think UNLV is good but with all the drama surrounding that team I don't see how they continue to play well. They're ranked and Syracuse will be looking to score a big victory tonight and I think they can get it done because imo they have the better QB now that UNLV's starting QB left the team. So I'm taking a shot here at the nice plus money and placing a full unit on both the spread and ML with Syracuse.

In the Michigan State game I think this is a spot where MSU gets overlooked by Oregon who is probably feeling confident coming into this one that they're gonna roll. They may be looking ahead to Ohio State who is on deck for them after this game. Due to that and the fact that I don't think MSU is as bad as they looked against Ohio State I think this is a game that Oregon wins but doesn't just blow out MSU. I see it being more of a 14-17 point game so I'm taking the points here and hoping MSU stays competitive.

In the WNBA I like the Liberty to take care of business against the Aces. The Aces look like they're ready for it to be over and imo they're not the same this year after winning back to back championships probably because it's grueling to go back to back and then try to win a third in a row is almost impossible. Also I think the Liberty are the best team in the WNBA and are on a mission to begin a new era in the WNBA with the Liberty starting a dynasty of their own.

NCAAF
Washington Huskies ML -125 1.25u to win 1u
CAL Golden Bears +10.5 -115 1.15u to win 1u

I only like these two plays for College football Saturday. First up I like Washington in a matchup of the National Title game last year. These two squads are completely different as almost nobody of merit returns from that game including the coaches so this is a different handicap. I think Michigan is doing it with smoke and mirrors right now. They should have blown out Minnesota last week but had to hang on for a three point win.

Now they go on the road and I think in this one Washington is going to force Michigan to beat them through the air. I'm not sure they can do that so I'm going with the home team here to win a close game against a team that imo shouldn't be ranked that high. Michigan's defense is tough but I like Will Rogers to find a way because really Washington's offense has been good having outgained their opponents the last two weeks but unfortunately they lost both those games. I think they stop that losing streak at home here against Michigan so ML for me with the spread being under 3.

In the ACC after dark I like CAL this week against Miami. Miami was very fortunate to win last week and now they fly across the country to play CAL. CAL is a scrappy team that has beaten Auburn as double digit dogs already this season. I like them to stay within the number and I think it's worth a ML sprinkle on CAL even though I didn't do that here because Miami is very good and I think this one could go either way in a close battle. I look for Cal's stingy defense and the crowd to carry the day for CAL in this one so Miami is going to face their toughest test yet.

Ok so I got lucky in college football tonight as all three of my bets cashed. MSU really isn't that good but Oregon didn't play particularly well and let up at the end enough for MSU to score 10 and come within the number. Syracuse got the win in overtime in an incredible game where I thought they were fortunate the refs made some of the calls they made in that one which is rare on the road for a team to get some calls but it looked that way to me and I'll take it because the Cuse won.

In the W the Aces still have life so that one lost but I stand by that play because I think the Liberty are still going to win that series but it might actually get back to New York if Las Vegas plays another game like they did tonight. On to tomorrow where we have 4 MLB games for me to take a look at so we'll see what plays I come up with.

Saturday's slate of baseball is interesting because I think a case could be made for each of the dogs to win outright. I only took the Padres here because I think they can get to Yamamoto whom I don't expect to go very long in the game even if they don't get to him just because I don't see the Dodgers allowing him to throw too many pitches. Now the Padres have the advantage in the bullpen and I think that will be the key to this series. They have the pitching while the Dodgers have the offense but a pitching staff that largely has question marks. I'm going with the Padres to win game 1 and I think they emerge as the winner of this series because they have the pitching and pitching rules in October.

Mich QB is bad. I mean bad.
Warren got benched after 3 games due to INTs. QB rating 35.
They put in Orji and it doesn't get better. QB rating 44.

You are dead right that WAS will make Mich pass, because Mich can't pass.
Orji can run though but that won't be enough.

WAS should win IMO.

To be fair I waffled on this one as you can make a case for Michigan whose defense will keep them in the game and is the best defense Washington has seen. I think Washington ultimately gets it done because their coaches will put Will Rogers in the best position to succeed.

Mich rush-D is the best part of their game but, I think WAS will be able to pass.
WAS Off-pass is 24th and Mich Def-pass is 103rd in the country.

Also, people will look at last week's loss to Rutgers and think, WAS isn't that good. WAS won that game on almost every stat except the scoreboard. The post-game win expectancy was over 75% for WAS.

I think they take care of business at home.

Finally got my internet back to do some housekeeping. First both my college football plays from Saturday hit to make it a perfect 5-0 this week and it would have been epic if CAL pulled off that upset but like I said Miami is good and they found a way to win down 25. Luckily I took the points because I don't know how I'd feel about that one if I were on CAL ml as well and they blew a 25 point lead like they did. My NFL plays went 2-1 and could have gone 3-0 if Pittsburgh could have just held on and recovered that fumble late in the 4th Quarter. They didn't and Dallas wound up winning a close one. Oh well I still have tomorrow's game to close out a good week in NFL with the Saints ATS play.
