Another tough day on the NBA slate as I went 0-2. The Knicks mounted a nice comeback but ultimately fell short against the Suns who were short handed and to their credit got the win on the road. The Celtics ended up not needing a great offensive performance to win their game against the Hawks so the game went well under the total. Hopefully I can break my slide starting tomorrow with a smaller sized NBA card.

My first play today is on Indiana to go over their team total against the Blazers. The Blazers are coming off blowing a 26 point lead against Milwaukee and the league did them no favors sending them to Indiana to play the Pacers who run all day. I like this one to go over 240 but I decided to isolate the Pacers team total because I trust them more to go over 126.5 points.

My next play is on the Pelicans to cover against the Jazz. They lost to the Jazz in Utah the other night but that was without Zion. Zion will be back in the lineup tonight and I think the Pelicans will be plenty motivated to beat the Jazz soundly tonight so I played the Pels to cover here.

First up tonight I took Minnesota to cover tonight against the Thunder at home. Minnesota needs to win this game and hope Sacramento loses to Golden State to force a three way tie in their group with Sacramento and Golden State. So I think they come out here and take care of Oklahoma at home whom I think they're better than on both sides of the ball. The Thunder are scrappy and might make this close but I think Minnesota ultimately covers.

My next play is on Houston against the Mavs tonight. This one matters to Houston because they can win this group with a win. Dallas has been eliminated so the only motivation they have tonight is to spoil Houston's hopes of making it to the knockout round. I like Houston tonight because besides motivation they've played much better than Dallas right now as evidenced by them covering in 11 straight games. I took the points but I actually think the Rockets get it done here so I sprinkled a half unit on the ML.

Tough night tonight as the Timberwolves won but the game landed right on the number so at least I didn't lose but I didn't win either. The Rockets game was close but the Mavs were able to spoil the party for Houston and cover in the process. Thing is I'd make the same bet again on the Rockets because I liked the recent form they were in but this team needs to take the next step and figure out how to win on the road which I think eventually they will but for now they're just a young team that is figuring out how to win under Ime Udoka. Hopefully tomorrow brings with it better luck but right now I'm cold in NBA.

Why is Orlando favored by so much ever Washington tonight?

There's no injuries to note in this one but Washington is arguably the worst team in the league so far this season. Orlando is a team on the rise and although I'm not betting this one if I had to make a pick on this game I'd lean towards laying it with Orlando because they actually play defense while Washington does not.

My first play is on the Suns laying the points on the road against Toronto. I didn't wait for the Kevin Durant news because I really don't think it matters if he plays tonight because Phoenix is surging even without him on the floor and should take care of business here as the more rested team against an inconsistent Raptors team on the road.

I decided to take the Clippers even though I'm one of those that remains skeptical of the trade they made to acquire James Harden. This is purely a spot play where the Kings are coming off a very close back and forth game last night against the Warriors while the Clippers are well rested here. I think that's why they're favored even though the game is in Sacramento and I think it's why the Clippers will win tonight and cover the short number.

1-1 night tonight as Phoenix loses despite Durant returning to action. At least my play on the Clippers was a no sweat winner as LA wins in blowout fashion on the road against a Sacramento team that probably was a little worn out after their big comeback victory against the Warriors yesterday. Decent sized card tomorrow so I'll be back with more plays.

First up I like the Thunder to cover at home against a struggling Lakers team who is coming in off a win but that was against the worst team in the league. When the Lakers have stepped up in class they haven't fared too well and this Thunder team is good plus they have the rest advantage over the Lakers who played yesterday while the Thunder didn't.

My next play is on Tyrese Haliburton to go over his P+R+A tonight against the Heat. This play is fairly obvious as Haliburton is a high usage player who has routinely gone over this number and the betting line suggests this game will be competitive so he'll have plenty of run to clear this number.

My last play is on the Bucks to cover the first half number against the Bulls who have been a disaster. I didn't want to lay 8.5 on the road with the Bucks because that seems like a lot to lay for a visiting team despite the Bulls struggles so I just played it safe and took the Bucks 1H -4.5.
