Welp the Warriors play is dead in the water at halftime with the Dubs completely not showing up which is somewhat understandable with this being the last leg of a long road trip that has been largely successful with them winning each game of the road trip besides this one. I probably should have stayed far away from this game because the Warriors almost punted this one as evidenced by them being down 45 at halftime. I still have a shot at a 1-1 day with the Wolves and Clippers locked in a battle.

Ugh the Wolves lose a tough game at home by 1 to the Clippers to make it a 0-2 day for me. Just a tough loss but the Clippers are a good team and I just wonder if the Wolves are really as good as their record especially when it comes to top contenders in the West. I think the Clippers and Nuggets can both beat them in a 7 game series but it would be interesting because Minnesota is so good defensively that they have a shot against everybody. Got to regroup and try to get back on track tomorrow.

Milwaukee Bucks -3.5 -108 1.08u to win 1u

My only play today is on the Milwaukee Bucks -3.5 against the visiting Clippers. I got this line at a bit of a discount because Giannis may miss the game with a sore achillies but I still like the play because the Clippers are on a back to back plus its their third game in four nights and 4th in 6th nights so I can see them mailing this one in. So despite Giannis's status being listed as questionable I still like this play because I feel like Milwaukee will still win this one by margin since I think the Clippers will be a little road weary tonight.

I'm not going to lie I thought this was a bad bet when the Giannis news went down that he was out because the spread moved five points and you could get the Bucks at plus money because they were the underdog. Luckily Dame didn't let me down and other guys stepped up to get the Bucks the win and cover. They even covered the overnight line which to me is a little bit of a shocker because they were down double digits at one point. I'll take it though and move on to tomorrows slate where I look to keep it going.

My two plays tonight in the NBA are a couple of first half plays instead of full games like I've mostly been doing lately. First up I like the Celtics to cover the first half against the Cavs. The Celtics are rolling right now so getting in front of them like I did Sunday is probably not very wise. Throw in the fact that they are the best first half team in the league and this play makes sense. It's crazy but if you blindly bet Celtics first halves this year ATS you'd be up a whopping 23 units which is easily the best mark in the league and that's what I'm doing here because the number is pretty short given the C's recent form.

My next play is on the Nuggets at home against the Suns. I took them first half because I don't think they have trouble covering the first half number against a Suns team minus Devin Booker. I didn't want to lay close to double digits with the Nuggets because even though Booker is out I think the Suns have enough talent to at least keep this somewhat close over the course of the full game and I don't know that Denver covers 9 or 10 here which is what the current line is. I do think Denver comes out strong at home where they have one of the best home court advantages in the league so I took them to cover the 5.5 in the first half.

First up tonight I like the Clippers to come out strong again in the first half against Houston and cover the first half line at halftime. Houston is on the second night of a back to back at home and I expect them to be a little sluggish to start. The only reason I didn't take the full game is because I think the back door cover is open with the line being 6.5 to 7 for the Clippers to lay on the road. They're the superior team but as we saw with the Clippers game against Milwaukee on Monday they have some trouble closing games out especially on the road so I'm playing it safe and just taking them in the first half.

Next up I'm on the Warriors to bounce back strong tonight against Milwaukee. The Bucks probably won't have Giannis here tonight if I had to guess because an achilles injury is nothing to mess around with and he could barely move in warmups prior to that game against the Clippers. This is more about the Warriors though who were chomping at the bit to get back home after getting completely humiliated by the Celtics on the road in the last game. Lets be real here though they punted that game because they already had a very successful road trip so I think they'll be ready to come out here and get back on track against the Bucks at home.

This is a night where I struggled with most of the card but I ended up with one play on the marquee matchup of the night between the Celtics and Nuggets. I'm backing the C's to win the game here tonight against the Champs because I think they'll play with something to prove against a team that beat them last time out. They are in better recent form too so I'm siding with the Celtics to get a win tonight on the road.

0-1 as the Celtics dropped a game that they didn't play particularly well in. Denver has their number so it will be interesting to see what happens if these two teams meet in the Finals.

New Orleans Pelicans -7.5 -107 1.07u to win 1u
Milwaukee Bucks ML -118 1.18u to win 1u

I have two plays on tonights card starting with the Pelicans laying 7.5 on the road against the Sixers. This is a big line but the Sixers have been bad without Joel Embiid and even worse with Tyrese Maxey on the shelf as well with a concussion. I think the Pelicans blow them out here on the road because they've been playing good ball lately and this Sixers team sucks without their two best players. Sometimes a team has a good game when their stars are out but when their two best players are out like the Sixers are here its easy to fade them and feel confident.

Next up I like the Bucks to bounce back tonight against the Lakers. The Bucks got embarrassed last time out by the Warriors on the road but I think they should bounce back strong here. One of the reasons that game against the Warriors got away from them quickly is the Warriors made 18 threes. I think the Bucks play better defense tonight against the Lakers and come away with the win in a bounce back spot on the road.
