JR's 2023-2024 NBA plays

I'm not disciplined enough for this nor am I interested in only betting one game a night and hammering it. I'm a sports bettor and if I see something I like I take my shot. Sometimes I'm going to miss that's just the way it is but the answer is probably yes I'd do better if I limited myself to one "Best Bet" a night and didn't try to hammer multiple games.

Minnesota Timberwolves ML -143 1.43u to win 1u

I don't see much on the board that I like today so I will only make one play and that is on the Minnesota Timberwolves ML. The Thunder scare me ATS because I think they will keep this one close and that 3 points is sharp but I can't ignore Minnesota at home. They're dominant there and I expect them to win today in what should be a very competitive game. I'm just not sure they cover the 3 points so I'm paying the juice and playing the ML here.

Tough loss tonight on the Wolves as they lose a rare game at home to the Thunder but it's not like this is completely unexpected because the Thunder are very good whether home or away. Just have to bounce back tomorrow and try to find some winners.

Houston Rockets +12 -109 1.09u to win 1u

Just one play for me today and I'm taking the Houston Rockets catching 12 at home against the Boston Celtics. Boston is coming off a loss which is rare for them and this is the first game of a back to back but I don't think they should laying this many against a Houston side that is very good at home. I think Houston probably loses this game but I think they can keep it close against the Celtics at home so I'm taking the 12 points here and hoping for a competitive game.

Thanks yeah it was nice to win one for a change in the NBA. Been a tough year but I keep grinding and hopefully i can turn this around soon.

Boston/Dallas o239.5 -110 1.1u to win 1u
Atlanta Hawks +8.5 -110 1.1u to win 1u

My first play is on the Celtics and Mavs to go over 239.5 tonight. I think the Celtics on the second night of a back to back will still be able to put a lot of points on the board and the Mavs with a 4 day rest advantage should be able to run with the Celtics. The Celtics injury report is the only thing that scares me here as Kristaps Porzingis will sit here but I just think this will be a high pace uptempo game that results in a lot of points so I'm playing the over.

My second play is on the Hawks +8.5 tonight against the Kings. This is a spot where Trey Young will not play but I expect the Hawks to play well without their star. I think they will play a little better defense without Trey in the lineup and that will enable them to keep this one close. The Kings have been struggling lately having dropped 4 straight and I think they will overlook the Hawks without Trey Young with the Warriors on deck on the road which is a bigger game for them.

Tough night in the NBA as I went 0-2. Boston and Dallas fell short of that lofty total and the Hawks got blown out on the road although they made things interesting for a backdoor cover at the end but it didn't happen for me. Hope to bounce back tomorrow on a shorter Tuesday card.

LA Lakers/LA Clippers o234 -115 1.15u to win 1u

Just one play today for me today on tonight's five game card. I like the Lakers and Clippers to go over 234 tonight. Lebron will be out of the lineup for this one and I think that hurts the Lakers defense more than anything else. The Clippers should be able to score at will tonight and I think the Lakers will be able to score enough to keep pace with the Clippers with Anthony Davis still playing. I look for lots of points tonight so I'm going over 234 here.

This one definitely flew over the total tonight as the Clippers beat the Lakers 127-116 giving me an easy winner. Tomorrow brings with it a bigger slate so I hope to find some more winners.

Phoenix Suns ML -125 1.25u to win 1u

First up I like the Cavs tonight against the Bucks. I think this will be a close game between two very good teams. The Bucks should play a little better now that their coach is gone but the Cavs have been one of the NBA's best teams at covering spreads over the last month. I think this is too many points here so I'm taking the Cavs +7 tonight in a game they might be able to win outright just like they did last week when they beat the Bucks by 40.

My next play is on the Suns ML on the road against the Mavs. The Mavs are banged up and right now they're struggling having lost 4 out of 6. The Suns on the other hand are starting to play better and are the healthier team here. I trust them to win the game here but this one might be close so I'm just playing the ML instead of laying the 2 or 2.5 with the Suns.
