Just curious because you always have a persepective on the games afterwards. I love watching games (not NBA so much though) so unlike JJ, I think its a good way to gain more insight.

I watch most of if not all of the games I bet on since I have the league pass. League pass is relatively inexpensive at $14.99 a month so I have it because I like to watch the games even when I don't have action on them.

Memphis Grizzlies ML -108 1.08u to win 1u
Orlando Magic +6 -110 1.1u to win 1u

Today I have two plays on this New Years Eve card. First up I like the Grizzlies to take care of business at home against the Kings. The Grizzlies have been a different team since Ja Morant returned to the lineup. They won 4 in a row before dropping their last two to two of the best teams in the West in the Nuggets and the Clippers. I think they find a way to get it done here at home against a Kings team that by all rights should've lost their last game against the Hawks. I still think the Kings are an inconsistent team especially on the road so I'm going to bet against them again here and hope that I don't get burned by another improbable Kings win on the road.

My second play is on the Magic +6 on the road against Phoenix. Phoenix gets Bradley Beal back today but I think that the Magic will be able to keep it close on the road because I don't expect the Suns to play well together because they haven't had their big 3 on the floor very often this season. The Magic should be able to make this a close game and possibly even win outright but I'm just going to take the 6 points here.

I was lucky to go 1-1 tonight as Orlando scored a meaningless layup after deciding not to foul on the defensive end and looking like they didn't want to score again even though they got the ball back. I'll take it because the Kings absolutely blitzed Memphis on the road so I obviously haven't learned my lesson yet fading these Kings. I'm going to try my best to avoid their games for a while and look for spots to bet on them because they're not a bad team unlike Memphis who is going to be up and down this year.

New York Knicks ML +100 1u to win 1u
Houston Rockets 1H -5 -110 1.1u to win 1u

Ok I'm going to try and ring in the new year with a couple of winners. First up I like the Knicks which may seem crazy after I've faded them against the Thunder and the Magic but those games came on the road and in the case of the Magic game it was a back to back on the road while being shorthanded due to the recent trade the Knicks made. Today they return home to take on a very good Minnesota team but I'm backing them with their new pieces OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa both set to make their Knick debut today. Minnesota has struggled their last few games on the road and I just think that the Knicks shoot a little better here at the Garden where they tend to shoot it better so I'm taking the Knicks to win at plus odds.

My second play is on the Rockets. I think they absoloutely dominate today against the Pistons who will probably relax a little bit now that they've broken that losing streak. I think the Rockets jump on them early and cruise here but I'm just taking the first half spread because that full game number of -9 is a bit rich even though I think the Rockets win this one going away.

Tough 1-1 night but hey we keep grinding. The Knicks were able to win against the Wolves after getting a big lead on them in the second half before hanging on for the win at home. I really think the Knicks will be a tough team in the East going forward now that they traded RJ Barrett. I didn't like that they had to include Immanuel Quickley in that trade because I really like him but OG Anunoby is the exact type of player Coach Thibodeau likes because he can defend all five positions and he is an effective third scorer as well.

Hindsight is 20/20 but sometimes I know a weakness in my approach is that I don't like laying too many points on the full game number. In this case it made some sense because Detroit ended the longest losing streak of all time and Houston covers spreads at home so I should've had confidence in them to lay whatever the books put out there.

I don't think I played Detroit once this season or even bet against them because the books deal lines that are usually pretty high so I pass but yeah this seems to be a trend with them. I don't think you can blindly do it but they might be a first half bet going forward if you do get involved with their games.

I was curious what Detroit's record ATS in the 1H was this year so I did some digging and they improved to 11-22 with tonight's cover. In the last 6 games they're 3-3 so do with that what you will.

Seems like I might be selectively seeing games they pull this 1H cover off. The record doesn't support the trend too much.

Oklahoma City Thunder +4 -110 1.1u to win 1u

Just one play for me on a shorter Tuesday card. I decided to go with the Thunder at home against the Celtics. The Celtics come in hot but the Thunder are also hot and they are very good at home so I think they get the job done tonight in what should be a very close basketball game. The ML is enticing at +155 but I just played it safe and took the points here because I see the Thunder giving the Celtics all they can handle here and covering the number at the very least.

Even though Boston has been winning road games they haven't been as successful ATS on the road.
