Norfolk State faces Hampton for the second time this season and in the first matchup, they got down early and had a force comeback in the 2H to win and cover. I think they start much faster in this one as they are the better team and have played a much tougher schedule to this point as well. I expect much more focus early here and think they go into the break with a lead.

Rockets have been playing very well lately and now they get a home matchup vs a surging Pelicans squad. I’m expecting the Pelicans to regress a bit and play down to their competitors here as I don’t think they can sustain their recent success.

Pick: Texas Southern +23.5 -106

Texas Southern has played a very tough schedule to this point and has played each team very close including staying within this number to BYU and NC state. Texas southern always plays extremely hard and think we’ll see a much better effort coming off their worst loss of the season. Duquesne is a team who is very solid defensively and has gotten off too fast starts this year. Through 9 games this year they’ve only trailed at the half twice and as an underdog they are 3-0 ATS in the first half. DePaul is a team who turns the ball over a lot and I think Duquesne can take advantage of their sloppiness and keep this close going into the break.

Buffalo has a lot of firepower and I think Western Kentucky will struggle to score against the length and athleticism of Buffalo. I expect Buffalo to get out in transition and use their experience and athleticism to their advantage and take a lead into the break here tonight.

Spurs have been playing really solid basketball over their last 6 games going 4-2 and 5-1 ATS including a win over the warriors. Now they get Denver in a favorable spot at home. The Nuggets are on a long road trip as this will be their 6th road game in a row. I don’t put much stock into trends but they’ve yet to win 2 games in a row on this road trip and they barely squeezed out a win against a weak Pelicans squad last time out and now they have to face a surging Spurs team. I think Derrick White and company for the Spurs are going to out duel the Nuggets in a high scoring game.

Suns have some injury concerns but I think they’ll be able to control this game with their defense and knock down enough outside shots to come away with the win and cover. Suns have also matched their season long ATS losing streak of 3 as they haven’t covered since their win against Golden State. Celtics are also coming off a wild 4th quarter effort and back door cover against the Clippers. I think ultimately the Celtics May compete and keep this game close but the Suns will pull away late.

Had the Spurs the other night in this same matchup but I think the Nuggets will make some much needed adjustments on the defensive end in this rematch. The Spurs absolutely dominated the boards last game and I think the Nuggets will place a much higher emphasis on boxing out to prevent the Spurs from gaining extra possessions. I also think the Nuggets will shoot better from the field as they only shot 45% last game and expect some positive regression there.

Have gone back and forth with this Spurs team all week but I believe this is a good spot to back them. Pelicans are coming off a come from behind win against the Pistons and Spurs coming off a blowout loss to the Nuggets. I think Spurs will make the necessary defensive adjustments and will be able to score at will on this weak Pelicans defense

76ers are coming off one of their most impressive wins of the season beating the warriors by nearly double digits and now they get a tough road test right off of that against a Grizzlies team that has been playing very well lately. I think this is the definition of a let down spot for the 76ers and Grizzlies have been playing exceptionally well lately going 7-1 in their L8 and expect them to win here as well but taking the 4 points in what should be a close game.

2 teams with high powered offenses who both take care of the ball and have solid effective FG percentages. I think this will be a fast paced game and as long as we get normal outside shooting from both teams, I think this goes over the number.

Charleston plays a very fast pace but isn’t efficient. Stetson plays solid defense and I think they’ll be able to hold down Charleston on the offensive end.

Really think the Mavs stifling defense will affect the TWolves here. I also think this line should be much steeper considering all the injuries the Mavs are dealing with. The Twolves usually play down to their competition and I think this is a good upset spot for the Mavs to take down the wolves on the road.

Bulls coming off a really solid come from behind win against the Lakers but in a game they didn’t cover. Hawks have been one of the better home teams in the NBA. They’ve had a lot of injury and COVID concerns lately but I still think they are much more talented than the magic and this number seems too low. I think the hawks will get out in transition and their defense should limit the Magic to under or close to 100 points as the magic really struggle to score and are dealing with some of their best players being out.
