I think a BMR trainer would help out here@BMR Genie , @BobbyFK and all trying to get started, just put in a couple of minutes of cardio at first.
Let's see some daily reports of how you guys burn calories each day.
Not weekly, daily.
The elliptical is good low impact way to start, just a couple of minutes to begin with, and it's nice to have a partner to workout with...
Nice! I'm happy for you, KVB. You have passed the most difficult stage, and that is the stage of finally starting to do it. How many days per week are you scheduled to go to the gym?How about hitting the gym sooner and then when you "feel lighter" and it's time to work out more, you will already be in some sort of gym shape.
Right?
lol Genie, but seriously, why put off going to the gym if you're planning on eventually going anyway?
I'm only in my second week of dedicated daily gym action and I already have more energy and feel stronger and overall feel great. A few weeks into it and I'm bound to feel really, really good.
No more excuses, rationalizations, and procrastinations, @BMR Genie , @BobbyFK and everyone else who is otherwise healthy, capable, and not injured and wants to get it in.
Now is as good a time as any to start getting it in and getting in the habit of getting it in is the next step after starting to get it in.
So let's get it in everybody.
Pass. I have more important things to do.
Like dealing with Tanko complaining about Fight Nights in my thread.

I will inquire and look for a gym that is close to my apartment and let's see.
Having a gym buddy is always a great idea.@BMR Genie , @BobbyFK and all trying to get started, just put in a couple of minutes of cardio at first.

You are now a gym guy, KVB. I love it! Yes, we would love to see your future improvements. You're right, just getting moving and getting there is a difficult stage. First thing I do is 3 minutes on the elliptical as a warm up then I'm in the mode to do everything else, including more elliptical for more time later in the workout.
Planning to go nearly every day, rotating excercises to make sure there's rest.
Going to kick up the cardio this week. Yesterday was a big day for me, doing nearly every excercise on the circuit.
Let's check in here or in Archie's thread with our daily getting it in accomplishments.

Your wife is your gym buddy, KVB? Do you usually hit the gym in the morning, afternoon, or evening?
This is a very exciting transformation for you, KVB. I know you already said you felt good about it, but wait a month or 2 and you are going to feel great than ever.Been doing the late afternoon/early evening then eating a big dinner afterwards.
I can bring a guest any time to the gym so I took my son earlier in the week, and he's already in weight training in school so he won't double up too much by coming with me.
So yeah, I brought my wife at the end of the week and again yesterday and she's getting going too. She'll come with me 4 or 5 days a week as a steady gym partner.
So that's pretty cool, I'm loving it.
Why wouldn't you DARE do it for the long term?I think I would like the no-carb diet if I'm aiming for a fast weight goal result, but I wouldn't dare do it for the long term.
If you're doing the backread then you will know. I already mentioned in my previous post that I don't think I can survive without a carb. I'm Asian remember.. So if I am going to do the strict no-carb diet, that means I am doing it desperately to lose weight to see fast results...not because I want the diet. Why wouldn't you DARE do it for the long term?
Why does everyone insist on going on diets that are vastly different than their usual one, only to return to the same old routine?
Then you will yo yo permanently. Up and down, up and down.If you're doing the backread then you will know. I already mentioned in my previous post that I don't think I can survive without a carb. I think he actually likes you Genie. He's like the little boy in grade school who pulls the girl's pig tails because he likes her and wants her attention. Acting out like this is the only way he knows how to get attention from her.I think I already established this particular user as one of my haters.
If you "hate" me, then don't worry, because the feeling is mutual.
