Sometimes its easy.
You have to be smart/subtle about it or the judge can stick it to you.
There was a retired judge who came back to fill-in for the regular judge who was out on maternity leave. This old judge was a complete "dick". Old fashioned, hang-em high judge. One of the jurors being questioned for selection in the first row clearly wanted to get out and was answering every question in a rude tone while showing extreme prejudice in his answers (similar to the Larry David clip in an earlier post). The judge held him in contempt and fined him. Everybody was like, WTF???? I didn't know you could be in contempt as part of jury selection.
5 minutes later he held another person in contempt because they failed to turn off their cell phone and it rang in the courtroom.
