Seriously - how would you like to have been a serious professional who has written seven books and a pretty distinguished career in law - only to wind up being the supposed “inspiration” for some nutcase killer ? I mean serial killers being inspired by music is nothing new - but this is a serious academic.

Victim was seperated - but heard nothing to indicate it was anything but civil. Of course sometimes it’s the person you most suspect too and generally that’s someone with a direct vendetta. Gunman is just toying with authorities - that’s for sure. Is there anyplace aside from maybe Las Vegas strip with more camera coverage than Manhattan - especially mid town post 9/11. Tons of rich residents and high end hotels - touristy and the media center of the world. But we can’t figure out who this guy is and 1 lousy picture?

Again - might just be 3 steps ahead of all of us putting out not only a red herring with message on the casings but using a little Hollywood magic and creating a face just for the occasion. How else do you explain facial recognition not identifying the shooter - not many people have escaped being photographed for a passport/immigration/DMV all their lives.
