So damn tired of this cold and white shit already.

Have not left the house in 2 weeks. Guess it’s just a combination of getting old and the heart crap - but I am not reacting well to the single digit temps. Throw in 6” of snow and drifting making roads a pain to drive - got me wanting to move again.

Wife is not onboard with my preferred destinations (back to central NC or possibly East TN) - wants to move to Florida of all places. In general - I’ve never been a fan of living full time in Florida - combination of traffic, people in general and cost.

But if I HAVE to live down there - looking at citrus/levy/dixie county area. Seems to be a little more spread and and solid trump country. Just worry it might be a little too “southern” even for me. She has this wonderful idea of warm winters and year round sunshine - guess she forgets about ungodly heat in the summer, hurricanes and bugs as big as your hand.

I wouldn't mind living in Florida. I love going on cruises so I would be close to many ports. Uber and Lyft should be busy down there with Disney, conventions, cruises.... etc... I think it would be a good move

Whatever you do, DO NOT MOVE to South Florida. The real estate down here is overpriced and you’ll be living next to a bunch of inconsiderate assholes for the most part. I’m lucky I haven’t caught a case yet with these miserable entitled bastids. When I say South Florida I mean the Tri-County area West Palm Beach County, Broward County, or Miami Dade County..

No way in hell I could ever do Cali - San Diego is nice to visit.

San Francisco is nice in the touristy parts.

A few other spots - but living there - no thanks. Can’t even do Western Oregon and that’s nothing but a bunch of Californians who got tired of the politics and taxes and escaped.

Wife also wants to do Seattle - again - no way in hell - even not factoring cost of living. Kinda like San Francisco to me - it’s beautiful looking out on the water - but you turn around and look inland and realize your surrounded by drugs and homeless - it’s not so scenic.

N Nevada I might consider - but again getting her on board.

Only real advantage Florida has is its proximity to the cruises and ease of getting down to Bahamas and Caribbean - which again nice places to visit - but when your surrounded by water and beach not as big of a deal as when your living in some flyover state.

Well aware of what S Florida is like and yea - definitely no for me.

Traffic alone is enough to keep me out.

I’d possibly consider someplace like Savannah Ga - but my “racist” wife wouldn’t. She is of course not racist in the traditional sense - just really never had to deal with more than a few black people at a time until we moved to NC and quickly learned how a minority manages to position themselves as the majority when taking over certain levels of the workforce - making it impossible to get anything done. Tried telling her it’s different in many other areas of the South - but she won’t listen.

Like I’ve said - I’ve dealt with plenty of races/religions spending time in Cleveland - and traveling all over the US - but wasn’t until I got to NC that I ever heard people say your not allowed in certain parts of town/businesses. Hell - I’ve walked into black motorcycle clubs before on business and gotten less shit. Just walked in - made it known what I was there for and that we aren’t going to have any problems unless they want problems and things went smoothly and respectfully. NC I tried a similar approach when dealing with a couple of good ole boys and wound up having a single shot shotgun poked in my chest by some geriatric with a wad of chewing tobacco in lip.

I know a few guys who only work the breakfast shift Ubering in the Disney area. No riff raff, running families back and forth between the hotels and parks, pretty easy and always busy.
