I’ve been there twice, bad weather both times, place was packed by mid-afternoon.

Yanez flies under the radar here. Usually connects on a handful of nice prices. Had one about two weeks ago with Ferrer up. Ferrer named again, so we’ll give it a whirl.

My fondest memory of Tampa was maybe about a decade ago, probably a little longer, when I used to take Oaks day off work and go to the track

I was down about $500 less than two hours in and on tilt. Nosed out for second twice and winner one DQ.

Tampa was next track running. There was a 3/5 fave. Next fave was 3/1. Put $250 on second-fave’s nose. Fave stumbled badly at the gate. My horse drew off and won by 5. Paid $8.60.

I cashed. Bet $60 to win and place on the horse I liked in the Derby. And left with a nice tidy profit.

Some big names in here, but if they stumble maybe the locals can spring an upset. Went with Speith who is usually good for 2 or 3 bombs each meet. Once again, gotta time it right…..

Love Tampa Bay Downs !!! When I lived in Tampa after a Day at the Track off to the Press Box for some Wings & Beer & then finishing the day at Mons Venus.

Aldana Gonzalez Spieth had been pretty low key so far. And her husband the jockey always makes it an adventure. But the price should be right and she’s dependable for 5-6 nice wins per meet.

Wars has been having a great meet, he’s been winning at Tampa since before I was born, yet he’s been ignored on the tote all meet. Fire away on this guy in all situations.
