Amazes me the “academics” who study this stuff and come off with findings how someone’s brain is “underdeveloped”.
100 or so years ago - the great grandparents of these people are likely the same ones who studied “race theory” and found races brains “underdeveloped” and “incapable of higher intelligence” - of course all these findings now completely invalidated.
Like really - a 13 year old doesn’t have the life experience and logical skills on the same level as a corresponding 35 year old - no shit. Doesn’t mean there aren’t 13 year olds who can’t out think 35 year olds - plenty of immature adults (I present this forum in support of my theory) - just as there are adult level thinking 13 year olds.
Again - amazes me 100 years ago 13-14 year olds marrying wasn’t uncommon - 13 year olds working in a factory or doing heavy labor not uncommon - but now we say - no, they are too young - but act amazed when they are committing violent crimes. Guess what - they’ve proven themselves capable of adult activity for centuries - we want to act like 100 years and everything changed dramatically because we “reversed” evolution. It’s not a race thing nor an age thing - it’s an environment thing - bring up ANYONE in setting where they have nothing and show them a path to “instant riches” in the way of crime - don’t be surprised that they follow.
Again - as a society we started changing course around WW II - saying under 18 was a child and entitled to “preferential” treatment in the legal system - but how many people enlisted in WW II as 16-17 years old by simply changing their birth dates without question. You commit capital crimes - you are treated as an adult. Saying anyone above age 8-9 doesn’t know murder is wrong is ignorant. Not fully comprehending their actions - possible - but they know what they are doing - they just see reward with little risk.
