Evidently the deceased also has other family members in the hospital right now as well.

I think it’s clear she - not her family were anything but innocent bystanders.

Thats the entire point of my post last night - this family is now dealing with the tragic loss of a mother - as well as others in the hospital - over what ?

Why in the hell is Travis Kelce speaking on ANYTHING other than expressing well wishes for the injured and dragging his ass down to the hospital to see some of the kids injured here ?

Was he completely ignorant of gun violence before yesterday ? (I’m guessing no given the fact he grew up in Cleveland Heights - while not as bad a parts of Cleveland - also not a small town with no violence).

Its pretty simple - gun laws/control prohibiting people from owning possessing guns will not work. The toothpaste is out of the tube - it would only make guns more costly and difficult for legal owners to posses.

What we need is a mandatory training course for gun purchasers - paid for by firearms industry. Say you need to show evidence of a gun safety course - completed online as well as basic range training to purchase a handgun - similar to current CCW requirements. Will it stop criminals - no - but it will ensure people buying guns know what the hell they are doing and own.

Secondly to that - put a buyer/straw buyer law in force with teeth - buy a gun used in a crime - face civil penalties AND loss of right to government aid/assistance. No SSI - forfeiture of tax returns/EIC and Social Security. Wanna bet that doesn’t stop grandma from buying her grandson a gun ?

It’s ridiculous- up until a few years ago getting caught with possession of weed was enough to get you barred from getting a student loan - ever. But buying a gun that is used in a crime is nothing - so you have straw buyers all across the low income areas buying for convicts - sisters/brothers-parents and grandparents. People using family members or total strangers to get themselves a gun and the buyer not suffering any consequences.
