We were at 4% unemployment rate when Trump took office, historically that’s about as low as you can get. So once again, I don’t care about having more jobs here. The only people who don’t have jobs are lazy.

Back then America was more alone, of course Philly had textile factories and Detroit made cars. It’s a different world now, it’s a global market. Like I said, if you think jobs are coming back to America you are just dumb. Still cheaper to pay someone in Vietnam $3 with high tariffs than $8 an hour in America. Textile factories ain’t coming back to Philly bro, much cheaper to make in Asia and South America. There are also easy loopholes around the tariffs, even when China got hit with the high tariffs during his first term they were just sending goods to Vietnam and they were then sending them to America. The same will happen.

I don’t care about the IRS. TBH I haven’t even looked at my vanguard account but I bet you I’m down close to 75k just from this market crash.

Everyone losing money right now is basically a fact. Most everything you are stating is wishful thinking.
You should care about making shit here and not having to depend on foreigners.

Yeah an American business can close shop here and open in Asia somewhere but then they should expect for their product to be shunned because of it.

I'll pay higher prices if it means getting manufacturing here again and also to balance the debt.

We're still $36 trillion in debt and your scenario means nothing would change and in fact, would only get worse.

Sorry that you can't see past yourself but there's a whole nation to think about.

Okay then you should give up your cellphone and the computer you’re posting on. Will always be made in Asia. It’s a global market now, don’t know what to tell you.

Ever think that we can be a great nation by using other countries? IMO we are at our best when we use other countries to best utilize their goods and likewise we streamline what we are good at.

As I mentioned before, manufacturing jobs just aren’t coming back here. Let me know when textile and the auto industry comes back to America because that ship has sailed.

To answer your question: NO.

We tried that and it got us $36 TRILLION in debt.

It's an enormous fail.

Manufacturing will come back here. It's already starting.

As for my phone and computer, the USA used to be the leader of the world in electronics.

I've said for over 2 decades now the problem was the rise of multi-national corporations.

We let these fukks go overseas and declare themselves citizens of nowhere and not beholden to anyone.

It was an outrageous and egregious mistake then, and it remains so now.

Why do you care so badly about our countries debt? How does the 35 trillion deficit impact you? Has it made your life so difficult? Doesn’t impact me one bit. Could care less if it’s 35 trillion or 1 trillion. What I do care about is our market absolutely tanking and normal people losing thousands.

I don’t care who makes my shit, just don’t mess with my money. Right now everyone in this country has way less money than they did. Maybe you don’t care because you might be broke with no money but people who actually have money care.

I was never a pro or anti Trump guy, could care less about politics for the most part. But people still sticking by him after he’s literally sinking the economy and market is hilarious.

You understand the debt is a national security threat, right?

It's fukking retarded to not think about it.

It's even worse to not deal with it.

To blame Trump is ridiculous. He didn't create this shit but he's the one trying to fix it.

According to you, we should stick our head in the sand, not deal with it, and watch it grow even more out of control than it already is.

That's suicide.

If the people we owe that money to ever call in that debt, we are finished. We don't have a country anymore. Everything collapses.

You won't have anything and neither will anyone else.

We have to deal with this. Too many previous administrations kicked the can down the road and now we finally have someone in office willing to take it on and fix it.

Why are you so worried about the market? The market goes up and down. That's what it does.

What are you going to say when it goes back up?

This shit everyone is panicking about is nonsense.

Worry about the real problems. The market reacting to the tariffs isn't one of them in the long run.

Fixing national security issues is.

Take for example all the seamstress jobs in Vietnam making all the clothes and shoes . You really think anyone in America wants to sit behind a sewing machine for 40 hours a week? Hell , I work in the trades
You can’t even find enough young people to be electricians , HVAC guys and plumbers . All young kids want to be social influencers,or make music for you tube or open Base ball card boxes looking for a $ 10,000 card . If you do find enough people they will unionize and you will pay triple for everything which makes inflation go out the roof . This isn’t the 1950’s nobody wants those crappy jobs, the horse has left the barn .

Is that what you see?

Because the Electricians Union here is backed up with young people looking to join.

There's literally a backlog of people.

Yes, to answer your question, I think people would not only do the work, but would be happy to do so.

A high paying union job with benefits or a bachelor's degree you couldn't wipe your ass with?

There is a shortage of electricians in the United States. The need for electricians continues to rise due to the demand in construction and alternative energy jobsites. There is also a shortage of HVAC technicians.
Not the case in Philly, Leisure.

Why wouldn't young people want these jobs?

They're high paying, filled with benefits, and are in demand.

I’m not going to get too into this because I’m not an economist but we’ve continuously been running the debt up for decades now. And Trump’s first term definitely added to that. I believe the debt that occurred during his term was one of the highest. Obviously covid had a lot to do with that but he was running the debt up well before that.

The idea that other countries will come after the US is hilarious, that isn’t happening.

Exactly, who in America wants to work in sweatshop conditions making minimum wage? Yeah because bringing sewing jobs at minimum wage in Missouri is really going to boost our economy.

There is a reason why we’ve been streamlining other countries for their goods for decades now. Vietnam, China, etc can make quality goods for cheap. Everybody wins. We get it cheaper. They have jobs therefore it boosts their economy.

You keep missing the point.

It's a national security threat.

You just assume those people aren't going to want their money back?

I won't make that assumption.

But why take the risk?

Trump is absolutely right in what he's doing and he knows it.

Sewing jobs minimum wage?

Let me ask you...

what do you think a barista in a coffee shop makes in salary?

Below minimum wage. They make their money on tips.

Yet, there's plenty of young people filling those jobs.

Do you think if they were offered a far better salary and benefits on top of it, they would say no?

If you told them they would have the opportunity to open their own business after they gain experience, they would say no?

It's about opportunity.

These kids getting worthless degrees and can't find jobs out of college, do you think they turn down the opportunity to be an electrician if given the choice?

I don't think so.

I understand you're pissed about the market but this is about something much bigger.
