I would of loved to talk with him. There was nobody else there that spoke any word of English. He was just happy as can be I bought his book.

Yes thanks for sharing Illini. I knew a bit about it but these pics are shocking and sad. Unfortunately not so surprising given human beings history of violence toward each other.
I think most animals mainly kill for food and survival. Many people kill animals for sport and then there are some who just kill other people for pure pleasure.

Humans are animals just a more advanced form any scientist will tell you our egos and narrow mindedness won't allow us to believe it.

I have a lot more to post, some more interesting than others. Ya, the stuff is pretty disturbing. The teeth, bones and clothes combing up from the ground is really disturbing.

Oh I definitely agree with this. It's one reason I don't really believe in an afterlife.

Alright , as many of you know I really enjoy Cambodia, It is amazing there and pretty wild what goes on there and what is allowed there. There are restaurants, cafes where you can get weed pizza, shakes, and mushrooms in drinks and pizza. The police don't care. Laos is the place where you can get opium still in certain areas in bars and clubs, you even see it on the menu. I usually go to the borders in Cambodia but I also like the Capital Phnom Penh, this was from my recent trip. I went to two different locations of The Killing Fields, one is pretty famous for tourists and the other is not. I had a guy take me to it for a private tour and it was unreal. It was pouring rain and he told me what I will see in the fields. I actually helped dig up teeth and bones coming up from the dirt. I did that for about 10 minutes and had to stop, I was getting sick doing it. Most everyone knows about Hitler and what he did to Jews and other people. Over 3 million were killed by the Regime . However what happened in Cambodia and it was not that long ago was unreal and not really talked about. However it should be, the research I have done is that the leader Poi Pot was more ruthless than Hitler. I actually had 7 family members killed in Auschwitz ( possibly more) but I am really into learning about what happened in Cambodia and Poi Pot wins as far as what he did , but both were despicable... Enjoy the pictures... the one that really got to me was the " beating tree" where they would beat kids on the tree until they died... I actually got to meet a survivor there as well.... it is in the pictures. View attachment 7876

I understand you're going back to Turkey. Have you ever been to the Sultan Ahmet complex and Hagia Sophia? For some reason I couldn't get into Hagia Sophia. The guard wouldn't let me in. I don't know if it was because I didn't have a ticket or what. He didn't speak English.

But along the same theme as these killing fields, in the Sultan Ahmet complex there are mosques filled with coffins. Large coffins, small coffins, really small coffins. In case anyone wondered, when a sultan died, his oldest son would kill all his own brothers and their whole families so as to remove any potential claim for the role of being sultan. So those little coffins were the coffins of the oldest son's brother's children.
