No. I know nothing about it. I know it’s very volatile and corrupt though.

Spending the day in one of my favorite places close to where I live, Hải Phòng, this is a port city and this is where there is a lot of Mafia is doing business. It is 90km from where I live, but the culture is extremely different. For the most part, people here talk bad about people in Hà Nội and people from Hà Nội talk bad about people from Hải Phòng.

Banks in Vietnam pay high interest, there is nothing like FDIC here though, they have something but it only covers a small amount, but I have never had an issue and I stay with reputable banks. There are tons here that dangle 12% but I have yet to deal with them and have been told to stay away by Viet friends.

Any fear these banks offering too-good-to-be-true interest will fail much like US Banks did in the 80’s?

Absolutely no fear at all, just saw some with 10% now....but like I mentioned you need to be a resident here to do it. Lots of wealth here and many people just living off the interest.

Very close to each other, there is a huge game here April 13th ( V league ) it will be fun! I have no idea about fishing. But Vietnamese love to fish and there is water and lakes everywhere and they are always fishing all day and night.

i am posting from the South China Sea at the moment. On Royal Caribbean Spectrum of The Seas cruise now. A quick 4 nighter. Singapore, Penang Malaysia and Phuket. I was in Penang today. Georgetown in Penang is my favorite place in Malaysia , 2nd to the KL. I met the captain and some other staff on the ship. There is 4,974 passengers on board. I asked how many Americans, they wouldn't give me the exact # but they said the manifesto is less than 5 Americans on board and I am one of them. It is all Chinese, Singaporean. Indian, Australian and Vietnamese. The casino is going off here packed all the time. I am running around trying to hook up with a vulnerable Chinese. Wish me luck
