Thanks for this thread. I'm in Thailand now, been here about 6 months now. I think Thailand was on the bottom of your list of the Asian countries, but it's pretty nice here compared to the shithole (Finland) I came from. Vietnam is much better than Thailand?

In my opinion, yes but you will find others who will disagree but the foreigners that live here love it. But Thailand has an easy visa situation, Vietnam doesn’t. I’ll be in Phuket for a day a the end of the month on a cruise out of Singapore. I’ve spent a lot of time in Thailand. Enjoy it. Where are you at ?

I'm in Bangkok. We visited Rayong and I liked the beach there. Really beautiful. Also, Udon Thani was an interesting experience. The norther you go, the nicer people seem to be.

I have experienced a lot that is for sure, like i have said I am on my 3rd passport each has 56 pages each, and i only have 12 pages left of that. All full of stamps and visas, I know people that have never left their state, people need to get out and travel the world!

You need approval and appropriate paperwork, residence refrigeration and police check to deal with the banks here. It’s a dream as far as interest rates go here. A hidden gem!!!!

Banks in Vietnam pay high interest, there is nothing like FDIC here though, they have something but it only covers a small amount, but I have never had an issue and I stay with reputable banks. There are tons here that dangle 12% but I have yet to deal with them and have been told to stay away by Viet friends.

i work from a computer but my main business is based in Vietnam but I can do it from anywhere. I can live anywhere in the world and for me, I am living in the best place there is.

In the US I could get a 9% annual interest rate at worst....

17% is an insult. My mentors telling me its a great thing unless China and Venezuela take over
