Predestination:

1. (as a doctrine in Christian theology) the divine foreordaining of all that will happen, especially with regard to the salvation of some and not others. It has been particularly associated with the teachings of St. Augustine of Hippo and of Calvin.

2. If God made everything before it existed, including time, space, and matter, then He knew everything from start to finish well before it ever happened. This brings up interesting questions and possibilities.

3. If He saw everything that was to happen, then He knew and saw the Rebellion of Satan, the rise of Man, the Fall of Adam, the creation of Hell, etc.

4. This would mean that everything that has happened up to this point, was in fact, predetermined. It also would mean there is no such thing as free will.

5. If there isn't any such thing as free will, then why are humans and angels eternally punished in Hell?

6. It means that everything, every action in our lives, that led us to this point WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN EXACTLY AS IT DID.

7. IF this is the case, what is the point of living?

Supposedly we live in a movie per say. Seems weird but we are supposed to learn to be grateful for the experience of living in this movie. You are supposed to trust the way to watch and act in this movie as Christ did and only then are you at peace with the movie you are in. I guess that's the way we have free will with predestination

Interesting. So we're in a simulation. So The Mateix is real.

If this is the case, then I wonder.....was this what Satan's Rebellion was really about?

I can buy the simulation theory. The stars in the sky are obviously fake as fukk and couldn't possibly be what the mainstream scientists tell us.

Is this a test? But then again, why? If everything is already predetermined then the answer is already known.

I think if you believe in Christ and salvation then you're internal soul will be saved. Let's say you live a rough life. If you repent your sins and ask for forgiveness that is your free will God has gave you

that’s Calvinism

John 3:16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth shall not perish, but have everlasting life

That verse and many others explains its by faith we have free will to believe or reject.

problem with predestination is if you believe that, then you have to believe God predestinated many to hell , the Bible never says that

If predestination is real, then your salvation/damnation was already determined and known before you existed.

I think there are a few examples of predestination that's easy for all to see.

Take Joan of Arc, for example. How can anyone with an open mind explain her as anything other than predetermined?

Seriously, a fukkin teenage peasant girl rises to defeat the greatest army on earth?

You gotta be fukkin kidding me.

I'm not saying i believe it. I'm on the fence about it. But clearly some.people are predestined.

Ok but I don't see the Bible as the authority anyway. I see the Church as the authority.

As a Christian you are saved by Christ shed blood don't ever forget that. Any church was made and managed by sinful human beings just like you and me.

Disagreed.

Reading a book and believing it doesn't make one a Christian.

Jesus is the founder of a Church. That means not all Churches were founded by sinful men.

If you don't think the Catholic Church has incredible sinful people that run it at the highest levels you are deceiving yourself for comfort.
It might but that has nothing to with it's doctrines, it's foundation, or it's catechism.

Sinful people exist everywhere. Everyone is a sinner. So what? Does that, in your mind, invalidate over 2000 years of Christianity?

You'd be nuts to think so.

The problem with protestants is they agree on nothing. That's why they have a thousand different branches.

There is no uniform set of beliefs, no set traditions, and certainly no apostolic lineage.

But going back to the topic of the thread, the question still remains, do you believe in predestination?

The thing as a human being it is all of our pride and nature for survival that we even care if we believe as Christians that God is more just that we can ever imagine does it even matter?

This is nonsensical.

Do you really think that the suffering and death Jesus endured does not matter?

Are you going to say this to Him when confronted with your judgment?

Do you think He will lavish you with love and forgiveness because you were a human fighting for survival?

Do you think reading a book is going to save you?

Do you think at all?
