Texas wants to win the SEC the first year in it. Beating A&M to do it will establish that Texas is still the big brother, plus they want another shot at Georgia. If they knock Georgia out that clears them for a first round bye as SEC champions and guarantees a playoff home game. Texas wants and needs to win for a multitude of reasons.

They wouldn't get a playoff home game

The rivalry/SEC component I understand but that doesn't seem as meaningul if the goal is to win a national championship

They're pretty dinged up as a team

Proved who wrong?

You used a flawed ratings system to try to justify a shitty opinion

SP+ — the system that had two-loss Ole Miss ahead of unbeaten Oregon

Great rating system LOL
How should be compare strengths of conferences?

You argued it should be based on personal opinion (which can be biased) of people who watch those games.

I agrued, it should be based on an unbiased rating of teams that looks at stats, SOS, W/L, etc....

Show me where someone indicates the B10 is better than the SEC overall.

Probably thinks Alabama should get in over Indiana lol
Now you're getting off topic.
I stated the SEC overall is > B10. I even stated the top of the B10 is better than the top of the SEC.

Now your twisting what I said and are upset I provided two different well known ratings systems that shows there is no comparison between the two conferences.

When did I say it should be on personal opinion of people who watch games?

You argued “it’s not even close” on a rating system that is obviously flawed. It had Ole Miss ahead of Oregon.

W-L/SOS is obviously flawed too

People in that very thread say the Big Ten is better
