And the flight crew was all young, attractive females who served free booze while you sat comfortably in your seat back in economy.

Air travel today < going greyhound 40 years ago. Mrs used to call me names for refusing to fly anywhere for work unless I had 1st class - and even then reluctantly going. She now is slowly coming around to my point of view after 15 years. If they want me somewhere bad enough - they can pay to get me there in a civilized manner.

Actually after 2020 - I basically said I was done with air travel. Hard to pinpoint the exact moment where it just clicked and I said “ no thanks - I’ll drive if I need to get there” - but it was probably right about the moment I was standing in line at CLT waiting to board and a man in a full yellow hazmat suit got in line behind me. If the time comes flying requires full on PPE - it’s time to stop.
