Not sure if it has been mentioned but watching late night HBO or Cinemax on the scrambled TV trying to see a nipple.

Able to ‘release’ to something like this on command - 2 or 3 times a day. Now, I need at least a day’s notice, and maybe a day recovery…..

When’s the last time you saw a kid out offering to mow lawns ?

Today it’s all grown ass men - going around and signing you up for their service - then sending out a couple of day laborers.

I get it - times change - but I’d happily pay $30-50 for some kid to come around and do the trimming/weeding every 2 weeks.

Don’t mind doing the rider - that’s minimal labor, but starting to get to a point where I’m not even able to do that. Thinking it might be time to hire it out for a while.

We've had a couple neighbor kids ask.
The kids are also posting on Nextdoor social media looking for mowing job during the summer.

Its defnitely not as prevalent as it used to be though.

Why should kids work? They get everything handed to them.

[old man speech loading]:
Why, when I was a kid I worked baling hay, mowing lawns, working part-time at a restaurant, etd. Why? So I could afford gas for the car and so I could take girls out on dates and so I could play pinball and eat french fries at the local bowling alley.

I do think it’s more prevalent that kids have “luxuries” given to them - cars, cell phones, spending money - at least compared to a few generations ago.

2 part reason for that in my opinion:

- 1. Parents simply aren’t working as hard for that money - so they don’t have an “attachment” to it. It’s funny - but when you bust ass doing physical work all day - the last thing you want to do is give it to a cell provider so your 11 year old has a new iPhone.

- 2. Convenience factor - it’s easier to let kids be more “independent” than having to have them rely on you for transportation. Give them a phone, a car and money to do their own thing and they don’t bother you during your free time. Again - this one’s on the parents - not the kids. If it’s an inconvenience to have to spend time with your kid - your shit as a parent.
