The amount we pay in premiums, deductibles, and copays in America is MORE than the taxes other countries pay for healthcare.
Also, the US is subsidizing other countries with our healthcare costs. How? We pay high prices to cover innovative and new drugs and techniques. The other countries reap the rewards since they get the same medical care as we do but have reasonable prices set by the governments to assure companies are not scalping their patients/clients. In the US the insurance companies negotiate the prices and get kickbacks to assure they stay high so that shareholders are paid off.
- In US --> Medical care is for generating money for companies and shareholds.
- In Canada/Europe --> Medical are is for looking out for people's health.
The funny thing is, I'm a deep red republican and even I realize this.
