Hard to believe he really only had five very good years.

I think it's pretty clear Orel blew his arm out in '88 w that streakn& post season run.

Same w a former Twin Scott Erickson. Had a streak of 11 straight wins in '91 but clearly blew his arm out

same. my dad bought a lot of these rookies as we collected. he thought he had my future house payment covered. amazing how so many of these late 80's early 90's guys just didn't do enough or had roids. any roids back then were never even thought of.

The thing is James. Most of us were in school during his incredible 1988 season

I’ll Never forget it. I think that’s why it seems like Hershiser dominated for a longer stretch than he did.

He was otherworldly that year and honestly just above average to average most of the rest of his career

I bought my nephew a bunch of rookie cards in the early 90s. Sammy Sosa was one of them. I thought if he held on to it for a couple decades he would have some decent cash.

Turns out the baseball card publishers put out so many they had become worthless, even today.

I see some are worth a couple hundred dollars now.
