Get a smart watch or an oura ring. You need to figure out your bmr and then work backwards. Set a goal for weight and then figure out how many additional calories you need to burn to get to your goal. Math guys check in

Fukk all that.

@BobbyFK just start moving around man.

There is no technology that is going to help you at this level.

Don't take this the wrong way pal, but you need to get off your ass and stop measuring walking distance as some victory.

Sure, use what little is accomplished as encouragement, a small victory, to do more, but it's all useless unless you do more. You need to add up the small victories.

Once you are in the habit, then the technology is great to refer to but until you make that mental jump, it's all worthless.

Nomsayin'?

... I try to celebrate the little victories

Nothing wrong with that, and it's good.

Now just get a little hungrier for more, build on the little victory.

Getting on a treadmill, for example, for 5 minutes is little victory.

Now you need to recognized that getting on for 5 minutes is done already, thnext little victory is making it 7 minutes, for example.

Always work to impove and you will not only feel great after a couple of weeks of consistency, but you'll see how for you've come, all earned on your own.

Don't throw that victory away, but honor it by maintaing your pace.

It's not easy, trust me I know, but it's a mental battle at that point, not a physical one.

With cake?

That's ok.

Let him celebrate with cake.

Anything to get that motion going and getting in the habit of moving. That could be a bigger obstacle than the diet change.

If he excercises enough, as long he's also getting good food and nutrients, that cake might not matter.

But it's true, he cannot live on cake alone.

@BobbyFK I'm not trying to knock you, I'm trying to encourage you to see the mental battle.

At first it might seem like I belittle the little victory as it seems so small but I do believe it should be seen as encouragement.

I think it's great that you see it as that too, that's important. Now build on that because the mental aspect really is the biggest part. It could be full on cognitive behavioural change and these things do not happen overnight.

One thing that could help if you really are trying to get into a gym, even to do a little bit, is to get a friend in there too. Together you can get each other to show up, just to show up, and then workout with whatever from there.

Making a committment to go or meet a friend there should help to get you there.

I have been working out with my teammate, my wife.

Maybe you and @angeleyes1980 could make a commitment to get in the gym, no matter how small the workout at first, a couple of days a week.

Shit, if it helps, go home afterwards and eat some cake.

I really do believe that the cake. or whatever, is doing far less harm than not getting good movement. Also, notice, I'm not pressuring you to get into sudden spin classes or HIIT shit, I'm saying things like "do a little bit" and "movement" because I just want to see you start.

You did start, sort of, even with a gym video.

Bobby, promise us just one gym video a week, right now, and come through on that.

The Forum as a whole would probably be so overwhelmed with happiness for you if we saw you and angeleyes stalking the gym in a video.

Alright, rant over, but said out of love.
