How are you liking Arizona so far, hopper?

We have those crazy hail storms randomly in Central Texas
Loving it! Peaceful & quiet. It’s nice to go to the store and not get hit up for cash by homeless crackheads. No garbage anywhere, no graffiti, no traffic, no smog, the freeway signs don’t have razor wire around them. I had to use the restroom at Home Depot the other day - it was sparkling clean, and had real mirrors without any gang $#!T etched into it. Haven’t seen a public restroom like that in forever.
On Friday afternoon we had about a 20 minute all out hailstorm, but other than that it’s been pretty temperate every day - high’s in the low 90’s on the hottest day…..

What's the latest Malty?
As I mentioned before, I'm thinking about moving up there, probably in one of the smaller cities like Dewey or Mayer though. My realtor suggested I rent for a year or two to make sure I like it but that would mean I would have to move twice and rent out my house for a year or two.
I've been up there for the 4th of July many years and for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter many years as well to visit my Mom and my sister so I'm pretty sure I would like it.

Thanks!
Zero regrets - well, only one, that we didn’t do it sooner. I’ll be starting my new job on Tuesday, kind of doing what I was in California - but making a little less. But that’s O.K., because everything is cheaper up here - especially gas.
Wife’s wall hooks finally showed up from Amazon - so we hung all of her suns up. Backyard is so peaceful, quiet. The only noise comes in the evening from the cicadas - which I enjoy. Good luck on your move when you decide to do it…..

Malted.... Time for some SiriusXM radio....
Was nice to see - not only American flags today, but them being respectfully flown at half-mast…..
Coming home from work, had a little bit of a drive, like 30 minutes, decided to check out the local ‘flavor’ and change all my formerly California FM presets on the car stereo (yes, old school). So, I hit the ‘Seek’ button and let it fly…..
90% of the stations are either country, religious, or Conservative talk!
There was one - ONE! ONLY F#CKIN’ ONE ‘Spanish’ station! and 1 ‘Old School’ R&B. Everything else was lite pop, classic rock, classic pop (like Beach Boys, $#!T like that) and new pop like Arianna Grande (I guess).
That, literally, has been the biggest culture shock for me yet…..

Be careful. Once you get it, you'll never give it up.
Pandora... Great app. My kids have it and use it all the time.
I’ve got Pandora, and my podcasts, Dish anywhere with the music channels - but I wanted to see what the local dial stations offered. It’s a @phillyflyers utopia!

So, did you stick to "Spanish’ station", Malted?

You will be fluent in no time.

You’ll learn to always keep your eyes peeled for deer. Had to do the same when I moved to Texas.Coming back from Cottonwood yesterday afternoon, guy in front of me slams on the brakes - luckily, I wasn’t that close behind him. A whole pack of like 30 deer crossed the road, also, luckily, none of them were hit - caught the last of them with my iPhone. That now makes about 5 things I’ve had dart in front of my car in just the 3 months we’ve been here. Wolves, coyotes, foxes, now deer. Nature coming at ya! Just things you don’t see in Southern California…..

You moved to Texas out of fear. Don’t sugar coat your comfortable move , Diggity aka the new dad. You couldn’t hang a day in California. We both know that. You’ll learn to always keep your eyes peeled for deer. Had to do the same when I moved to Texas.
I was surprised he moved to Texas. I know he is very afraid of bats and there are plenty of them in his area. You moved to Texas out of fear. Don’t sugar coat your comfortable move , Diggity aka the new dad. You couldn’t hang a day in California. We both know that.
Illini would love it here. His kind loves to eat bats.I was surprised he moved to Texas. I know he is very afraid of bats and there are plenty of them in his area.
I guess he was more afraid of what he faced in California than he was of bats.
He was what we called a “hood hopper” he first moved to Southern California and was always sporting blue and repping the 13 then loved to Modesto and started to wear red and be a chap/buster. He had no choice but to move.I was surprised he moved to Texas. I know he is very afraid of bats and there are plenty of them in his area.
