It’s been happening in New Jersey all the time read the news I get alerts on my Ring apps thieves taking cars photos from Vin numbers

I actually got a police warning that they put out obviously, it’s going on

With the right software, you can do anything

The one thing about posters, they’re the stupidest people in the world, losing all their money gambling and having no idea what’s really going on in the world

Go look around you can actually learn how to do it. It’s not that hard

Actually, this is your sad life story. I would bet my life that the majority of the BMR members can not relate.

JJ is sort of right. A lot depends on the age/type of car/key you have.
  1. Non-transponder keys (older cars) --> This can be done but it would take someone at the dealership or locksmith "breaking the law" by making the key without proof of ownership and if the key has a transponder it gets a lot more difficult.

  2. If its a newer car with a transponder in the keyfob, the car needs to be there (at dealership/locksmith) to program the new key and make it work.

BUT, there are ways people are stealing keyfob/transponder signals from people since the keyfob is always sending a signal out. The equipment can be bought on Amazon to do this. Car theives usually do this at night and sneak up to your house to pick up the signal. Store keys in a faraday box/pouch to avoid this problem.

  3. You apparently can get the programmed keyfob without the car being there but you need the 4 or 6 digit code that came on a tag attached to the keys when it was new.
That's what I remember from the dealership service rep when we replaced my daughter's keys.

This is funny to me on a personal level.

One of my kids had 2013 Kia. I bet everyone has seen or heard how easily it is to steal older model Kia's on youtube right? Not a lot to it. They are one of the most stolen car brands around now. Some insurance companies in larger cities won't even insure Kia's because they are too easy to steal.

Kia sent one of these clubs to us "to resolve the potential theft problem" for their cars. :ROFLMAO:
We got rid of it ASAP.
