It is a state academic institution that is paying its head coach $2M per year and not paying the players anything. They are responsible for the system they have set up and have to make sure their students are not exploited.

It is all on UNLV. If they want to play scholarship football, they are accountable for their own actions.

You know all these colleges are cutting other sports to pay out the ncaa NIL settlement for past athletes.

It's sad, but sports like track, tennis, swimming are getting cut so the has beens who got a free ride on taxpayer money can get a handout for some fukking pizza commercials they may or may not have had a chance to do.

NIL is here to stay. But, if the get NIL $, they shouldn’t get scholarships from state funds.

$2.8B among the P5 schools over 10 years right off the top to former players.

This will kill 3-5 sports offered at these schools, because all but bball & football in 99% of colleges lose money.

college football as we know it will go away in 5 years due to stuff like this
Its already changed so much in the last several years (players sitting out of bowl games, etc...), its hard to recognize from just 10-15 years ago.

I guess everything changes but this kind of sucks. Not sure I'm going to like the way it will look in 5 years, let alone beyond that.

more equitable now. Kirby smart makes 13 million a year and his star QB makes bank too. it will shake out in the end. too much $$$ to be made not to? IMO.

They only exist so they did not have to pay the players anyway. They are just going to downsize them and let them play in state against smaller schools.

If you are still watching, it does not matter. People bitch and then they love it more than ever.

whole lotta money involved. It will grown exponentially as time passes.
Coaches
NIL
TV contracts
Tickets

Everything will be WAY more expensive now. We'll probably have to pay-per-view games in the future that are now on national TV (like UFC). Its going to get out of hand IMO.

I would disagree.....

I watch less and less the past few years. Many friends I've talked to don't even watch the sport anymore especially since the NIL money game alive. Sure they bet on the games but watch? Nope.
