Reports said talks with Johnson broke down after he said he wanted to choose his own GM and then Brady said the GM is my guy and that's when Johnson said see ya later.

The GM with the Bears is still the same. So I guess Ben Johnson’s GM was already there.

So Pete is proven but Andy Reid, Sean Payton, and Jim Harbough are not? Pete is not the best coach in that division and he doesn’t have a quarterback. Pete may be the worst coach in the division and you are talking about him being a proven commodity.

Huh? Who said the other coaches aren't proven?

Pete is not a perfect coach by any means, but it's a lot better than doing what the Jets and Cowboys did. And he is a lot closer to "proven" than Ben Johnson is

I said the division isn't the toughest in the league, which is not exactly a hot take. Pete could be the worst coach in the division, but that doesn't make it a bad hire. And it also doesn't make the division tough necessarily.

Carroll knows how to build a culture, or at least he did.

So that alone makes it a good hire for the Raiders.

I hope Brady and Co are all on the same page, often that's what it also takes.

Pete Carroll & the Raiders need to get some kind of “journeyman” QB ASAF’nP in order to make a statement right off - because Uncle Rico and The Cuck Guy aren’t going to cut it. Who fits that category the best, AND is available, AND would be the best fit for Pete:

Sam Darnold? - ehhhh, he’ll probably stay in Minnesota.

The Red Rifle? - maybe…..

Carson Wentz? - I think he likes being Mahomes backup.

Justin Fields? - would fit in the run game, just not ‘flashy’ enough, and not a great passer.

You might be underestimating the role coaching plays in the development of the athlete, and the team.

It's something to think about from a little more of a big picture perspective.

Also, some coaches are just coaches, some are institutions.

Insititutions win championships.

Dawn Staley won a national basketball title and turned over all 5 starters.

Then she won it again.

Seriously, they really aren't that far removed from a some decent success. I remember Carr got injured and Chucky got fukked.

NFL reading emails trying to take down the Washington owner, which they did, and Chuycky just pure unwarranted collateral damage there.

That set the Raiders back a bit and now a name like Tom Brady is there to get it back on track.

They just need some time, and I think we see success there.

The Raiders are a long way from being a playoff team or above .500. They are a few years from even getting out of playing 4th place schedules which go to the worst team in the division every year. So even with those advantages they will still be at the bottom of the division when Rah Rah Carroll leaves.
