Had no idea this was the case and Peter DePodesto (real life Jonah Hill Moneyball character) switched from baseball to football in 2016

Shocked he hasn’t been fired yet for using his “Moneyball” mind to facilitate the DeShaun Watson trade in 2022. Says all you need to know about Cleveland

Wow. This guy needs fired. Can't believe he's still around after the Watson debacle.

Myles Garrett recently requested a meeting with Browns owner Jimmy Haslam

The owner declined and told Garrett’s people to meet with the GM instead.

What an idiot if you have any chance of keeping your star player

Browns gonna Browns complete idiot move 👎

Don’t disagree - BUT what FA is coming to Cleveland - even for record setting money ??

Short of paying Chubb a reasonable amount this year to come back - I could care less how they spend Haslam’s millions. Clear no one wants to come there voluntarily - and team needs too much to draft all needs in a single year.

Best hope - we are able to lure a guy like Fields or maybe Cousins to Cleveland on a 2 year deal - skip drafting a QB this year and either trade down #2 for a top 10 and another first rounder next year or use it to take Hunter or possibly Carter (Carter has higher upside - but so many guys at his position can get value in a 2nd rounder). Otherwise - it’s Cam Ward and a year of learning unfortunately.

Financially it isn't bad but what does that tell everyone else on the team? Your favorite kid threw a tantrum in the store and knocked everything over and you bought him a candy
bar.

Who (other than Chubb) on this team has ANY opportunity to play elsewhere and make the money they make in Cleveland ? Even Chubb likely to have a lukewarm market coming off injury - but RBs being paid now so who knows what someone might throw out there at him.

Otherwise - I suspect ownership knows they have 1 other superstar and some pretty good players - but no one with the leverage Garrett had.

They will spend money stupidly - at least give it to a guy who did something for you prior to signing the new contract/

Yes and yes.

Been a Browns fan since early 80s - grew up right on the border of Shitsburgh/Cleveland country - about 80 miles from Pitt and 100 from Cleveland.

Went up to see Municipal Stadium right after they announced the move to Baltimore - me and the old man walked right in and out to the field. Eventually security guard came down and said you got to get the hell out of here - your aren’t allowed on the field - old man looked at him and asked why ? What are they going to do - fire you ? Your out of a job anyway you slice it next week and if your smart you call in sick this weekend as place is going to riot. Security guard just nodded his head and said carry on - walked away. Got some good pictures that day of the old place - need to find and post them.

And of course they did literally tear the shit out of the place that final game. Sad to see it go like that - a lot of good memories in that stadium.

New stadium just isn’t the same - have had tickets to several games gifted to me - but never actually went to one there. Only Charlotte a couple of years ago when they played Browns in the opener and Baker signed with Panthers to start the season. Place felt like a Browns home.

Overrated player who plays hard 15 plays a game otherwise sucking wind while the team gets their asses kicked. They might have the dumbest owner in sports that hired 3 ivy league resumes that know absolutely nothing on what it takes to win.
