Looks like I remember these shows - packed with a ton of people and a pain in the ass to navigate.

No way I’d do one of these like I did when I was young. Still miss the scene though in a way - a lot of stories behind the scenes and ALOT of the big names in the hobby gambled. Also heard of more than a few high stakes poker games at the hotel night before these shows.

Ever deal with Alan Rosen ? Remember meeting him a time or two over the years. Nice enough guy - but always thought a lot of it was just a game to him - fake niceness to people in an effort to build trust. Used to brag about carrying around 100k with him everywhere. Still - no denying he was a big time name in the sports card field in its prime.

Yes, I met him twice, Mr. Mint was awesome, saw him at a show in NJ and at the National one year. i got my W551 strip set from him and a some high grade e92 cards.. He was a great guy , he was wealthy before he got into cards. RIP

This was not what I expected at all, pretty lame to be honest, the last card show I was at was the National 13 years ago. This was 70% Pokemon and 30% baseball/Football/Basketball and not really any good pre war stuff which that is what i am into. I do not understand the Pokemon thing, I don't really even know what it is, I think a cartoon or video game? It was cool though, did not buy anything, I just did some 2C-B and gonna do some Mathew P tonight and then go to the Raider game tomorrow. God Bless this forum and may we pray for @BobbyFK's safety
