Guess what we have here. A huge public line. Vegas uses power numbers, remember that. They don't have time to analyze 50 games and see what we see. What do we see? Well, Air Force has looked amazing lately. They beat Boise Stare (a name team who is under 500), Wyoming (there's a win that we will remember because the week before Wyoming was -31.5 and almost lost to Uconn(insert joke here)), New Mexico (2-5 and 37 points in 5 weeks scary team there), I think you get the point. Of course you can argue San Diego St hasn't beaten anyone either but San Jose St is a decent team with a great defense, they beat Utah (best team in pac 12 i would have to say after what they did last week to Arizona St.) and they are undefeated (6-0).
None of this matters because what matters is one thing. Air Force throws the ball 7 times a game (1-5 59 yards last game, yes one completion all game) because they are one dimensional. They run, run, run. That's all they do. Why does that matter? Well SD St is built for one thing, and that is to stop the run. They are the #1 rushing defense. They give up 61 yards a game and only 2.1 per attempt. Those are scary numbers. When all you do is run and you are going against the best defense to stop it, what do you think will happen? If you didn't need the obvious, here's more: SD ST just held Utah to 70 yards rushing and since then they have run for 603 yards in the last 3 games. (I'm pretty sure Utah is a better team than Air Force). San Diego St has won the last 8 versus Air Force. They
know how to stop the option attack.
Finally if that doesn't sell you, I have some # 's which i can't reveal but in the last 40 years the situation we have here with an undefeated underdog (some other stuff is involved of course) has hit 94% of the time. So the best run defense in the country, 8 wins in a row H2H, undefeated team getting points, 94% chance of winning and they are the underdog tonight. Not often we can laugh at the lines but we will because we will win this game. I will take the points because they are giving them to me. San Diego St 27-20. Cash the outright doggie.
