I have three official plays today's lighter card. Just wasn't anything on the NCAAB board that I really liked so I passed on college hoops today. My first play is on the Miami (OH) to cover against Northern Illinois. I think this will be a close game but I'm going with Miami (OH) because they're the slightly better team than Northern Illinois who is still the only team to beat Notre Dame but has bad losses in MAC play. I think Miami (OH) will move the ball effectively here and win the game covering the short number at home.

In the NBA we have cup action again and this makes it even tougher to cap. In the big showdown between Boston and Cleveland I like Boston tonight to get up for this game and take it to Cleveland who is due to get beat. I think because this is a big game Boston will end up covering this number at home.

My other play is on Memphis to take care of the Nuggets at home. Denver is bad without Nikola Jokic in the lineup and even with him playing they have struggled this year. Memphis is much improved this year and I just think this game won't be close with the Joker not playing so I took Memphis to cover.

1-2 tonight as I win in the Maction with Miami (OH) getting the win and cover tonight against Northern Illinois to notch their sixth straight win. Unfortunately tonight both my NBA plays lose as Boston wins but doesn't cover against Cleveland despite leading by 17 at the break and Memphis goes down against a Denver team that didn't have Jokic. Memphis isn't a great team right now without Ja Morant in the lineup so I should have taken that into consideration and not bet this one because you really didn't know whaat to expect from either team with key players missing the game.

Yes they're 6th in the nation in scoring and Long Beach State is 286th in defensive efficiency which is why this play stood out on today's board for me. The Zags don't take it easy on teams like this either so if they get up by a huge amount they won't take their foot off the gas pedal and stop scoring.

So I don't do this often but I decided to add a play in the NBA and it's on the 76ers who have really struggled this season. However, they are favored here on the road against Memphis because Memphis is banged up and this could be the first time all season we see the Philly big three together on the court at the same time. Maxey is still questionable but I like that he called out Joel Embiid because somebody has to light a fire under that guys ass. I expect Embiid to have a big game here because Zach Edey is out of the lineup again in all likelihood and that means the Grizzlies really don't have anybody to stop Embiid who has vowed to hunt his shot more frequently. Memphis burned me last night and it made me realize that they are not good when Ja Morant is out of the lineup but he's not the only one missing and it's impacting them big time so this line should be bigger imo.

Decent day overall thanks mostly to going 2-0 in MACtion tonight as my first foray into the Mac this season ends with me going 3-0. Unfortunately I added to added a loser to my card by taking a shot with the Sixers who continue to be awful and lose outright to Memphis on the road. At least I hit KAT's P+R+A over prop to salvage a winning day going 3-2 on the night. Back at it tomorrow with probably some action on the divisional game between the Steelers and the Browns.

I can understand why because St. Johns played double OT last night and lost but my reasoning is that Virginia is not good this year without their coach. Plus some of their players chose to transfer when he left abruptly before the season so they're in a bit of disarray. I don't like their offense so far this year and I think St. Johns will have enough left in the tank to run them out of the gym but I can see why you took Virginia because 10.5 is a lot of points. I just don't think the Cavs can keep up with the Johnnies who have a much better offense than them.

The timing of the Virg coach leaving was BS. He should have made that call last spring. I did not look into the transfers. That is a good point. I could be in trouble with the play.

Well St. Johns turned out to be my only winner as they easily took care of Virginia but Baylor got blown out in the championship game in the Bahamas and I went 0-2 in the NBA. I continue to struggle as the week goes along but I hope to turn it around with some college football winners Saturday.
