Many say the reward was weak and that he should have kept the money instead. Just crazy cause how TF do you leave that money behind. Must have been an ATM reloader that left it.

He could have went to jail for keeping the money. Plus he did the right thing. Even though he wasn't rewarded with much it was still something
Karma just has a way to get at us if we do any kind of dirt. He absolutely did the right thing. I can't say that many would have. Ain't no amount of money worth my freedom.

Agree the reward is low - but suspect he will have more doors opening for him as a result. As mentioned - karma is a thing.

Actually - $500 from Wells Fargo is probably pretty generous. Remember this is the bank that fraudulently opened lines of credit and damaged the scores of tens of thousands, had an employee dead in their office for days and rakes in billions in bogus fees. Using Wells Fargo logic - surprised they didn’t charge the kid 33.9% interest for the time he had the money in his possession and call it a “cash advance”.

Wells Fargo is a DISGRACE ! Anyone that uses them or is thinking about doing so understand this. They are a SCAM.

They did everything possible to screw my son back in the day. They recommended NOT paying his mortgage for 3 months so he MIGHT qualify for some BS offering of theirs.

They also saw he had a 604 credit score 15 years ago and said that they needed to check his current credit score several times to make sure it was accurate. By doing so, it lowered the score to 598 and they raised the interest rate. Then missing 3 months of mortgage payments destroyed him.
They ruined his credit on purpose.
I contacted my congressman, and representative. All the sudden, things changed for the better. They were so nice and receptive.
I got him away from that cesspool and found him a big boy bank to do business with.

They are without a doubt as bad as banking can get. Run Forrest Run !

A TOTAL CRAP HOLE.

Cops invited him to apply for an entry-level job when this happened back in the day

It’s not like he found this $$ out in some isolated place. I doubt he/anyone could have gotten away with taking the cash anyway. Banks and their perimeters laden with cameras
