Well 7 years since online gambling became legal in the states and most players are now burned out and went broke. Promos are down and referral amounts are down and many players are out of the game. Many of the books that started are no longer around as they couldn't compete and went broke. I can name a handful of books. Most that started years ago went broke. They just couldn't compete with big boys. 😝

So the thought process is.....

Financial slowdow --> People spending less & gambling less --> gambling revenue goes down?
Is that it?

For some reason the data doesn't exactly correlate. Looking at 2008, gambing revenue dropped but not as much as the markets did or GDP. Some economists considered it more recession-resistant that most businesses. Sure it falls just not as far.

As Pipe points out, the legalization may effect this trend.

You live in the best state to really take advantage of the legal markets. I have one legal option in Florida sucks lol.
Its tough down there not just for Gambling with sportsbooks them Indians paid for that lock 🔒 down. But to just make a living period. I know man and it wasn't easy. Been there done that. The pressures of living in South Florida is tough. And I'll be honest with you jerky I don't miss that part. Parts I do miss going out in government cut to salt water fish and my kids.

Yeah, I won’t be retiring down in South Florida. That’s the lock of the century for me.

Gold I'm not so sure I agree with you here.

Gambling can be defensive and while it's not exactly recession proof, I think that it's fairly recession resistant.

Same thing with travel, vacations, etc.

People still do that shit when the markets are getting hit and the economy is slowing down.

As does Texas unless you want to drive to Louisiana

Honestly wish I would have been doing this when it was the Wild West of freebies 5-6 years ago

4.5 hour drive for me

2000-2010 even wilder and freer. I was there before, and aftert this period.

Crazy times.
I was talking about onshore

I do remember the wild and crazy offshore bonuses. From early 2000s.

Lots of 100 percent, one time roll, etc

I remember getting one from Bodog once like that for $2k. Bet the biggest ML NFL game that week all in. Then cashed out in full on Monday. They paid too. Crazy times

I think I talk about the crazy expanding opportunity in the US markets in my intro to the business video.

There is still some wild west, a little bit. The Arizona market is ripe for the taking.
