I think I'll be good. Question is whether or not next week I need to regress and jump in with lighter weights, not because of strentgh, but to come back from injury.

Out two full weeks from any weight work with the exception of 3 lb pt weight for wrist and forearm.

Still sore, especially to the touch and when I make a fist, but again no swelling or any visible signs of inflammation or damage.

This is starting to suck. I've done some cardio in the gym but not on the weight circuit and my metabolism is slowing, I'm not as hungry.

Hard to take in 3k calories anymore, even though I come close. It's like I'm eating for no purpose.

Will be in the gym tomorrow, for sure, but not sure what will get accomplished.

@Archie I'm considering the risky move of immobiliztion, or partial, in order to heal. No more picking up a glass of ice water, for example. Tough to take the elbow out without immobilizing the shoulder, and that's is not acceptable. So not sure what to do here, and don't see a Dr. helping too much, they will likely say to stay off of it.

Trying to be patient here, but starting to get a little pissed off. Healing is taking time and I didn't think the injury was that extensive.

maybe work up the kinetic chain. sometimes tennis elbow stuff comes from neck, rotator cuff and scapular instabilities.

is that your jerk off hand?

This was more of a single incident injury though, when I tried to do a curl with kettle bell and held it wrong.

But I do have plenty of neck problems that cause arm pain, in both arms. This seems to be a separate issue.

A bit of my workout was already more like PT for some neck and shoulder issues.

Wife has taken over those duties.

However, it is my "fingerbang" hand and last night may have taken a small toll.

Even she admits that, lol, and feels a little guilty.

Oh the sacrifices we make for our loved ones.

Wake up hungry get 3 bacon egg and cheese biscuits and put a hash brown on top of each of them and that is 1800 calories right there.

Been in gym on elliptical and legs and started push-ups on the balance ball after an additional two full weeks off. Still very tough to rest the dominant hand grip and elbow.

Came back stronger than ever so today I added chest press, military press, and fly’s, all machines, nothing requiring grip.

Could lift every weight I left off on, no need to go lighter.

Also did exercises for the elbow. I iced today.

Tomorrow I will try back workout but not sure about these “pull” exercises, they require grip. Lat pulls, rows, shrugs and even shoulder raises.

Not sure the elbow is ready, to be honest, like I said I iced today, still, and am still doing those basic excercises with a five pound weight.

No dumbbell work at all in the near future but might be replacing incline dumbbell bench with an incline bench bar.

But if I can’t balance all the chest and triceps with back and biceps, I’ll have to tone it down and stick to core workouts and cardio alone.

Nagging discomfort injuries in our 40’s suck bbc KVB, I know exactly what you’re going through as you try to get back to 100%. I like how you are not pushing it and you are methodical about your approach. I’m not surprised though because you usually abide by this system with everything that you do.
