Genuine question: If the refs are rigging this for KC, then why would anyone bet Buffalo?

Heard that about 80% of wagers ended up being on the Bills. And people wonder why the books are rich.

So many grown men bitching about the refs favoring the Chiefs, and yet these same people bet Buffalo anyway on a 1.5 spread

Just shows how stupid people are -- can't separate emotions and logic

It's like a trouble from a lover. My heart says Bills, but my mind says KC. Most of the time we follow the heart.

Greed can make people do insane things but I do not see how it would be a good business model for the NFL to attempt to have refs, who are part time help, rig games so that they get the teams in they want when if every caught, the multi Billion dollar investment could and probably would be damaged forever.

If true, and you are one of the owners with those multi billions at risk, don't you object to it? I know what my answer would be.

People ( Referees ) overreact or impulsively react in the heat of the micro second to more valued commodities. Like a kid is throwing a rock and you have a old car near, you look and probably don't say anything, just shake your head or say Really! Now have them doing that with your brand new Lamborghini sitting nearby and you flip out. Same impulse, different quick reaction.

If you think it through, it is a terrible and ridiculous monetary idea that makes no sense whatsoever.
And because of that, I don't buy it.
Fun to talk about though,... I guess.

I agree it sounds nuts and not very likely to be happening.

But, in the back of my mind, I keep thinking of Tim Donaghy (NBA ref). He openly commented the NBA office told them to help "throw" the games. Kings/Lakers 2002 playoffs. I'm not sure anyone thought it was going on in the NBA back then until someone got busted and confessed.

Even with that NBA storyline, I'm 99% convinced the NFL is not doing something similar. Well, maybe only 90% convinced. :)
