Some magnificent structures
But do you end up eating and liking it, or you still can't tolerate the smell?I probably have mentioned this in this thread before but I'll say it again. When I was working in Singapore, one of my Singaporean coworkers told me, "It's like eating a bowl of ice cream sitting on the toilet. It tastes great but the smell is horrible."

They're illegal because they're not paying tax, like the one on ths stalls. Most of the time, the local government is harsh in implementing the ordinances about them and how to get rid of them. But I'd rather see this kind of illegal activity than see them doing other illegal stuff. The government should provide a better program for these small vendors. One of the ladies I know in Cebu, Philippines sells veggies. She rents a stall by the month so she always has a place to sell. She says some people there will try to sell on the street while not in a stall but it's illegal and the police will sometimes tell them to pack it up and go away.
Sorry, I saw you already mentioned the places in your first post.Beijing , Shanghai, Fuzuo, , Chongqing and Sanya this trip.
That's a lot. I bet not all of them are legal.California, USA. This state has a large population of Southeast Asians. The Filipino population here is nearly 1.7 million, approximately the same population as Da Nang city, Vietnam.

PH is so western.
I've never eaten one. I had a durian smoothie one time at Lee's Sandwiches but it didn't really smell all that bad.But do you end up eating and liking it, or you still can't tolerate the smell?
The Filipino groom is wearing what it called a barong tagalog. It's a white t-shirt underneath a transparent mesh shirt made of pineapple leaf fibers, or Piรฑa seda, a blend of pineapple and silk. When my buddy married his Filipina wife in Manila, I was his best man and wore one of these. Typically black pants and black shoes are also worn.
