Each year when I come back it is a culture shock to me. Overweight/obese people all over America, it is nothing like that in SEA at all. What is very interesting and I don't know the reason but maybe someone here can chime in.... I am not talking about Asia just SEA but you have heavy people in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, East- Timor, Philippines , Malaysia, etc etc of course here in Viet Nam too but rare, I don't know the reason for this....

Hanoi just got their first Mcdonalds a few years ago but they have their own style fast food chains, it is not like they eat healthy, their diets are not that good, but most are skinny.

There are also a lot of obesity issues in PH, remember we love to eat rice 3x a day lol.

But Asians have a small body build and small bones..maybe that's one reason why you don't see them obese in general even if they are.
