So, our friend the youtube guy who every hates that lives in angel city, says its ~$500 dowry to pay the family for their daughter..... Is that really the case?

Haha, 1M house in PH is already decent. It's not a joke, most foreigners build houses for their Filipina wife/gf.

Dowry can range from that amount upward. It depends on the agreement between the parents and the guy. I had a Muslim friend who once said that the more educated a woman is, with a good profession and status, the more expensive the dowry becomes.
