According to the World Economic Forum’s 2024 report on Promoting Effective Energy Transition, Vietnam ranks first in Southeast Asia and 32nd globally. Meanwhile, the Philippines ranks last in Southeast Asia, at 105th globally.

The Energy Transition Index (ETI) is a tool used to measure a country’s progress in transitioning from fossil fuel-based conventional energy sources to cleaner, sustainable, and environmentally friendly energy sources. ETI provides a holistic view of how prepared a country is to face the challenges and opportunities in the global energy transition towards a more sustainable and low-carbon energy system.
