so you are thinking the thyroid surgery allowed your body to focus and try to regulate other areas
that are troublesome ? Makes sense to me as ive experienced something like this as well .
definitely.
Parathyroids regulate calcium levels using parathyroud hormone (PTH). It takes calcium from the bones and teeth as needed and that is replaced naturally in the body.
So when they were overactive it was excess PTH that just kept taking calcium from my bones so calcuim levels were high in the blood too.
It put a lot of that in my kidneys.
Fortunately, it didn't put the calcuim in my arteries so I'm good, but simply taking out the overactive glands stopped the removal of calcium from the bones.
I have osteoporosis now, basically, but it is reversable because of the cause. It's not age, like an old lady, it was the parathyroid.
So I stopped the soda to help build bones back, as it interrupts the process.
So does burning bowls, or any smoking or vaping. That interrupts bone rebuilding too, but I haven't totally cut that out.
In the end, I'm much more healthy that I appeared last year on so many fronts now that I had the surgery.
Fukkin awesome. Now I need to get in the gym regularly and get in better shape as my diet has really come around and improved.
