Sad shit, very depressing especially being in the harsh winter months. Spent last night and today reading/watching his stuff. Definitely needs help from the endless circle. He/anyone just needs to go to any hospital whether you have insurance or not and say you don't want to live anymore and have a plan to harm yourself. Free stay for at least a week with the best resources you can get anywhere and almost immediately. Besides the regular good food, we had the best snacks including Kozi shack puddings, personal pizza. You name it. We had regulars monthly that knew the trick. Spend their monthly cash on coke as soon as cash ran out went to ED saying they had thoughts of killing themselves. Some can never escape their demons and take advantage of the system and others utilize it properly. Lots of interesting stories out there. Some homeless make bank daily.

You are right, and ultimately the reasoning you gave is why I decided that I could not make him any offers. Like you, I do not know the guy, and he absolutely has something bothering him. And as you stated, I was afraid of being a prisoner in my own home.
If he were not screaming out loud of violence/for help, I`d have most likely never have made that call. How could I?

Props to you for taking action. I don't know that there is any way to prevent Stevie from Stevieing, but getting him some kind of attention from local institutions can only help, I think. Good to know he won't be spending the next few nights out in the bitter cold at least.

While SBR was down, I went surfing. I discovered this site, and one next door. Wanting a forum to hang out at, I chose BMR. But, at the other joint there was also a Steve thread, and that one was getting action.
Long story short, stopped there today and some people are concerned about him. If anyone here has an account at gl, might you let them know that Steve is in a warm place that he is not free to leave. Not certain a 3 day mental health evaluation or jail for the probation violation. Probably will not see him for 6 months or so is my guess.
Yeah, I`m not signing up over there to inform them ... , I already saved a life and probably a few crimes this year, I ain`t got time for that shit.

Yeah, I don`t suggest you or anyone take the time to watch those vids, like Erikk said above, they are sad/depressing.
Cool that no one is finding fault with me for my decision to call. It was not an easy choice.
By your last statement though, it seems that maybe it was the right one.

Thankfully DreamGenie, (little David Bowie for Ya) I had never met him. Saw him at SBR off an on for years.
Had I ever met him in real life, I`d like to think I would have punched him in the mouth.
Though that is not how I solve things, so I`d have ignored him, or given him a quick verbal assault.

This is my field. It isn't so much that he was crying out for help as much as this is his real life struggle having a diagnosis of Bipolar and not being properly medicated, mixing meds with alcohol, or what we normally see when patients stop taking their meds all together because they feel better. The manic state, word salad, paranoia add in the mixing of any amount of booze is a scary situation. These meds just do not work instantly. They often take a good 4-6 weeks to start seeing the benefits and unfortunately the side effects of these meds like limp dick and others take effect week one and a big reason why patients go off them once they are discharged because they "feel better" or just miss the high of being in that manic state where you think every chick wants to fvck you and other grandiose delusions. Their stay with us is usually at least 3 weeks in this state. We get promised millions of dollars and the best jobs in the world by them. Disease affects all times whether you are rich or poor. We have treated them all. When they 1st get admitted in that state the night is wild. They are not violent like other diagnoses like schizophrenia. They are just really loud up for days, yelling , running the hallways naked. We really have to watch them with other pts sneaking off to have sex.

I spent hours reading/watching his stuff. When he went to the hospital or even police for other stuff they should have been able to access his mental state and a longer admission was definitely needed until he became stable. They did him or society no favors. God bless Steve!! You have an extra support system on these forums wanting to see you be your best. Mental heath health issues/substance abuse go hand and hand. Can't even have a drink and has to stay on the meds or the endless circle will continue.

I am fvcking confused. Why would he be in jail?? The only good thing about jail is he would be out of the cold but that is not going to make Steve's situation any better. It just continues the circle.

Highly doubtful he is in jail unless he went ape shit on the cops and even than he would still be committed to a mental health facility as non-voluntary. He would be given the option if he wants to start any medication before he sees a judge. He is allowed to refuse. He would get a free lawyer and see a judge all in the facility or Zoom. If the judge agreed with the Drs, which they normally do than he would be forced to take whatever meds the Dr prescribed and he would stay until deemed safe/stable. After being discharged, that is when he would go to jail if he committed a crime but what crime did he commit?? I watched all the videos, there is no crime besides maybe public drunkenness' and even if there was a crime he wasn't in the right frame of mind and by Drs admitting him that proves he was mentally ill at the time of such crimes.

Do you have a source Brother 52 that says Steve is in jail? Do you have a source he was even picked up? Some of your posts are word salad and I don't fully understand. Either way Prayers to Steve and hope he is warm and getting the help he needs and not in jail.
