Was in elementary when this happened.

I remember how upsetting it was because the teacher Christa McCauliffe was on it. The teachers in our school were visibly upset. First time I remember seeing some adults cry.

And all because one of the least expensive parts on the Space Shuttle, an O-Ring in the Solid Rocket Booster, was never tested in below-freezing temperatures.

NASA never imagined they’d be launching in temperatures like this at Kennedy Space Center in South Florida. It reached 22 degrees the night before the launch.

Same. We had like 4 different classrooms gather in the common area in the middle of all the classes. The teachers rolled in a tv so we could all watch it live. Fawk.
The three biggest news stories that have happened in my lifetime I will never forget every single event surrounding the day:

Challenger
Len Bias
9/11.

Is there a movie inspired by this event?
