as a yankees fan, i do agree about the yankees having a good supporting cast that would make up for judge moreso than the mariners lineup. i just think the average for raleigh is a huge factor for voters. He is in the conversation.
MVP should be a measure of value to the team and it’s win/loss - not individual stats.
Stats Judge wins - but where would Yankees be without him - 5 games worse, maybe 7 ?
Without Cal Mariners are bottom of the division.
Another underrated name is Jose Ramirez- quietly keeping Cleveland on the edge of contention - in a year where little went right for this team - Jose is the glue that keeps them going.
If Cleveland managed to leapfrog Seattle for last spot - watch Jose.
The books finally caught up and adjusted the odds to how good these Mariners are. It took them 2 months. Especially since the trade deadlineCal finally the favorite after getting to 60 yesterday
Was -110 each heading into last night’s game
What did Judge do to finally fall behind in the race? Hit two himself
Raleigh was 20/1 not too long ago during the season

good job getting that futures bet on the division.Banggggg already locked in Mariners +290 to win the division from 2 months ago. Now got them +600 to win al and +2000/+1400 to win the WS.
Go Ms!
You have “the best of it” with those numbers sirBanggggg already locked in Mariners +290 to win the division from 2 months ago. Now got them +600 to win al and +2000/+1400 to win the WS.

Seems like 60 is an important threshold. It stands out. People may feel it deserves MVP recognition.Cal finally the favorite after getting to 60 yesterday

I remember when Giancarlo Stanton hit 60+ dingers for the Marlins about a decade ago it seems. Then we proceeded to trade him away for what ? Something I don’t remember or that actually panned out lol.Seems like 60 is an important threshold. It stands out. People may feel it deserves MVP recognition.

I can remember when the Marlins paid for a nice team, won the WS and then sold everything in a fire sale. It seemed like for years afterwards, anyone who was any good for them was "sold" off. That was like 25-30 years ago with Huisenga or Loria (?).I remember when Giancarlo Stanton hit 60+ dingers for the Marlins about a decade ago it seems. Then we proceeded to trade him away for what ? Yes that has pretty much been the narrative since then when those two guys were in charge. Yes your time frame is accurate in 97 it was Huisenga when they put a team together & won a WS. Then 03 with Loria a very special year for South Floridians.I can remember when the Marlins paid for a nice team, won the WS and then sold everything in a fire sale. Kind of like the Pirates.
