I thought you kept selling once it goes up 1%, "rinse and repeat"?
typically when it goes up $500 on my position.

i hold $10,000 at any given time, so if it goes up 5% yes i sell and take my profits.

i do not do this on Stocks, but i do it on Bitcoin.

why? because it has proven very volatile in the short term, so i want to collect my profits as a hedge.

currently I am up $4500 for the year in Bitcoin profits. i will pay Zero taxes on it because I sold some stock laggards at losses to offset the $4500 gains.

right now i hold $10,000 in BTC. it needs to drop Minus $5500 from here so Minus 55% on my position and then i will be sitting even on Realized Gains vs Unrealized Gains.

However, on the way down to $4500 in value, i would be incrementally buying on the way down and lowering my Cost Base, which mitigates the Unrealized Losses and keeps my profit static at $4500.

i do believe in the Asset Long term but that is still 7 to 10 years out IMO.

in the meantime, i look at is collecting the Premium on big Pops that always seem to fizzle out.

I actually root for it to go down more and more so i can simply build a bigger position.

GL Mate.

I want to increase my position too. Definitely not right now though.
right. you will be chasing it. but there is probably a part of you that who wants to secure the profits.

i hold stocks long term, i rarely ever trade them, because stocks are tried and true for many generations.

bitcoin, ethereum, and just crypto in general is very new relatively speaking and it has many enemies who IMO are jealous of it that they did not get in on the ground floor and or they fear it because they do not understand it.

that is why i pocket my profits in $500 increments.

Witnessed a guy yelling at his son today. They are in cash/crypto exchange business. Illegal of course.

The problem was, the son didn't do the procedure to 'fix the price'. ETH went up a few percent in the last 24 hours prior to a large trade. And now they stood to lose a few % instead of making a few % commission on the deal.

If you do crypto, you can make a lot, but you can lose a lot, too. Even on stupid s... like this

I think that you can lose a lot in smaller cap coins, but with the large caps, you can throw darts and make money. Everything goes up.

Not a sure thing but I posted this across the street since I like HNT.

A little background on HNT. Helium is a type of Internet of Things. Helium Mobile partnered with T-Mobile a little over a year ago. They started a cheap Mobile phone service in the Miami area and it went nationwide a couple of weeks ago. Helium Mobile is a sponsor of the Miami Hurricanes. They started showing up at home games about two weeks ago. There are no cell towers for the cell service. Hotspots are owned by individual people and it's increasing at a fast pace.

That said, HNT is still risky but a great project. MOBILE is much more risky. This bull run is can't lose unless you do things such as going crazy on a MOBILE, even HNT isn't in the can't miss category. MOBILE had a huge run and there has to be some major pull back.

I heard about it on VanEck's top 15 predictions. Love the idea. Do you have the dashcam yourself?

Don't have the dashcam but I sure hope that VanEck is right on the predictions especially the NFTs. I hold a lot of VeVe collectibles. Really like SOL. I dumped all my SOL a ways back with everything else and just held BTC and ETH because of the regulation scare especially XRP. Aped back in the SOL ecosystem. I'm looking at buying more of ecosytems rather than the L1s but will still hold BTC and ETH. Looking at just SOL, ETH and ADA ecosystems thinking that the rest of the L1s will fall off. AI and Gaming is the next sector I like. How about you?

The whole SOL ecosystem's gone wild. BONK (SOL Meme Coin) and MOBILE on tears. Too late to try and hop on board now even if you miss out since there's a huge downside. Still I think HNT has legs.
