Sorry to say - but the days of forums pressuring a book into doing something ended circa 2011.

These days books realize they can make their own rules and the public outcry isn’t going to stop depositors that they want. The money forums bring in isn’t the profitable kind of bettor a book wants - it’s a different customer entirely.

Books want absolute square money - the kind of fool that deposits $500 for a 100% free play a 15x RO and who has zero chance of making it more than halfway through - then comes back the following Monday and does it all over again. Chases big NFL spreads and 5 team parlays as well as juiced up props on major players in big games.

Forums no longer drive that traffic - there was a day when these guys opened Netscape Navigator- went to Alta Vista and searched “online gambling” and got directed to a forum that fed the books with 1000s of fish a week. Those days are long gone - now forums are a dozen well worked over vets of offshore who know every trick and have lasted gambling 2 decades because they aren’t completely clueless.

Keep fighting - but if they are paying you back something - I’d take it now and then raise the argument - chances are if you reject what they offer first and fight - you will get zero. No one has the ability to force a book to pay and a forum wide boycott will do nothing.
Partially true. I do think that the public outcry here made a big difference in getting JDS paid by wagerweb.

A friend went into BetNow live chat pretending to be a new customer and asked about licensing and what happens if there’s a dispute. The answers were all over the place:
  • First they said Curaçao, then admitted they used to be licensed there but are now under Anjouan (Comoros).
  • When asked about player protection, the rep said the only place to complain is OSGA.
  • Pressed further, they doubled down: “We have our house rules we follow. If you do not like them do not play with us.”
  • Finally, they said they don’t even have the authority to advise what a player can do with complaints.
Bottom line: BetNow staff basically admitted disputes are handled however they see fit, with no meaningful regulator behind them. The only recourse they point players to is OSGA — otherwise you’re stuck with their “house rules.”

I think a person connected with WW had more to do with that than public outcry - based on what JDS has posted here.

Of course the man himself is around and can certainly chime in with his thoughts.

My point is of course forums just don’t have the level of influence they once had. BetIslands was the scandal that showed that I think. The level of trust and the truth about forum / book influence came to light and the way posters approach forums and ratings was never the same.

These days - the only books that need forums to help drive business are the newly opened shops. Anyone that’s been around more than 5 years is well established and can just sit back and let money find them.

BTW the person involved from Wagering / at BetNow.eu regarding this dispute is named Oggy Lionhart

Anything we can help uncover on this guy would be most helpful

Thanks all

No doubt public outcry helped @JDS get paid his full 89k from WW when they tried to stiff. Jerky also one of the most well-known posters in fourmville. I think BMR assisted in this one as well as the public pressure if I recall correctly.

Public outcry here, as well as BMR, also helped me with a situation where it looked like I was going to get stiffed out of a payout of nearly $700 after a Christmas promo. @djefferis will remember that one. So it does happen.

I was able to file an official complaint with Anjouan Gaming and they actually CC'd Support@betnow.eu with a copy of my complaint which is pretty impressive for little old AnjouanView attachment 72667
I know I’ve referenced BMR and the fact I post there a lot at BN before, and let them know I’ve given them props before here, and it seemed to help if there were any little problems.

But maybe those days are long gone with the new owners. Sad things have changed there

Comoros? Good luck with them now. Sportbet.one, anonymous crypto book also there and literally same track record...randomly decide who will get paid and pick from a list of excuses to confiscate balances. Not good...
