I just watched the two-part documentary on Carlin on HBO Max that came out recently produced by Judd Apatow and Carlin’s daughter. Very good.

Had a lot about his life I didn’t know plus the metamorphosis of his comedy

i try to have a normal life too, i treat gambling like a normal job here to enjoy time with friends and i say this many times when im out, i want nothing to do with gambling and it talk as im out to enjoy friends, but when im home working i have my game face on and nothing but numbers i want to think about

I agree with you about taking a part-time job after "retiring". As far as taking SS at 62, my problem is that my employers keep offering me more and more money to keep working. This allows me to be more secure in retirement like being able to afford a new vehicle and fixing up my RV school bus. Working a couple years later will make life better for years and years to come.

Can I ask about your occupation? More to the point, where did you go to school (I'm guessing you did a lot more than community college!) and have you done skill upgrades recently, like Coursera type online courses?

People shouldn't be afraid of retirement (as though its dying). My dad taught me its just like another job except the work that you do is the work YOU WANT TO DO when you want to do it and not what someone else tells you what to do.

He said, its something you will get used to doing, just like a new profession in life. The stuff you're concerned about and stress over changes from high level stuff like, "Damn, I better get that project done and be successful or I may get fired" to.... "What am I going to have for lunch today".
