Thanks. Good info. I've always heard about how inexpensive it is living in SEA.
That's why I was following your threads so much to learn more about it.

I may talk to the wife and add it to the list of possible places to retire to in several years.
It is cheap but there are great countries to live in there and then ones you would not want to be in. Any questions let me know know.

So I’m supposed to accept the fact that they’re gonna steal from me f*** them Tanko !
Yep it sucks.

I don't see what we can do about it. Conservatives want to cut Soc Sec. Liberals want to fund it or even increase it but, they can't figure out how to do that (except tax the rich and large corporations).

Most of my retirement planning scenarios assume 74% payout of Soc Security benefits.

I am not a fan at all of the Philippines, there are 11 SEA countries and they are #9 on my list, #10 is East Timor and #11, Brunei. Depends where in Thailand you go, a lot of people speak English there. If you didn't like Thailand for that reason then don't go to Vietnam, more speak English in Thailand than Vietnam tenfold. Good luck and if you do come to the Motherland look me up, I will show you a good time.
Yeah, it's not for everyone. It's noisy, crowded and there's a lot of poverty. But I've just described quite a few countries in Southeast Asia.

I'll for sure look you up in Vietnam if I decide to go there. Will you take me to Sihanoukville?

Good stuff leap. Wasn't always successful at betting early on. I was wet behind the ears so to say and was as square as they come man. I learned through trials and early on that sports betting really actually is all about the numbers. I'm pretty decent at quick math on the fly and on numbers and do fast calculations in my head as I'm practically a human calculator man 😂. Love live betting. I do ok for myself sports betting. It was hard to learn to master the art of line movement. Once I was actually able to do that the wins came without actually trying to pick winners tbh. I also put in alot of the work that it takes to succeed at this game man. When everyone's sleeping the Pipester is awake. 😜 And when everyone's awake I'm dead asleep. 😂 I'm literally a night owl seeing daylight. Sounds like you got your retirement plans in order. Just enjoy the time we got left. 👊 💪 🤪😜
I agree. It's all about the numbers rather than picking winners. I'm pretty quick with numbers in my head too. I know a few people who arb, take both sides of a bet, and they say they never have to worry about the result.

my advice is:
take retirement quit your job, take a break and then get part time work to give you a sense of purpose and some income. always take SS at 62, it would take collecting past your 80th year to break even on waiting till 65. working when you dont need the money is a whole new mindset, lots less stress.
I agree with you about taking a part-time job after "retiring". As far as taking SS at 62, my problem is that my employers keep offering me more and more money to keep working. This allows me to be more secure in retirement like being able to afford a new vehicle and fixing up my RV school bus. Working a couple years later will make life better for years and years to come.

That actually has nothing to do with why I don’t like it. Vietnam is 10x noisier and more crowded etc.I’ll take you to Sihanoukville and Kampot and Bavet. But Mong La in Myanmar is where you will maybe have a heart attack but worth the risk. Let’s go !

What is it you don't like about the Philippines? I think you may have mentioned it in your big thread but I realize not every place is perfect.

George Carlin was a wise man. Funny, yet wise.
