I have to rant about this again this year

What is the point of eliminating the 4th preseason game, if they are then going to take that extra week off before the start of the Regular season, instead of starting Week 1 immediately following the last preseason game as they always did in the past

I think they just wanted to give the players rest before the grind of the regular season. They added another game to the schedule a few years ago so I guess the reasoning is so that the players are healthy coming into the regular season.
