yes he is

in nyc, many drivers are not english speaking. it does make it tough to communicate sometimes. i know it is not a popular idea but i feel like if you are going to work at a job that deals with the public like uber, you should be able to communicate with the people you pick up.

i think a better way of wording this would be to select the language your driver is able to speak. if they can't speak english, you should be able to not select them. my mom has this issue all the time as she ubers a lot. i tell her to use google translate but it is tough for an older person.

How about if you're going to drive in a country where the road signs & law enforcement and the laws themselves are in English you need to be proficient in said language to get a fukking license.

Unfortunately I've had a lot of complaints lately out here in Vegas about drivers not being able to speak English. Actually most passengers are surprised when I can actually carry a conversation with them. One of my latest passengers suggested that the rideshare companies should at least call the drivers for like an interview to make sure that they could speak proper English and have a conversation but unfortunately they do not do that. As long as you can pass a background check, vehicle inspection and have a clean driving record that's all that matters to them
